This is my entry for londons calling and its taken me forever to finish. The cops are after the robbers in this classic scene with several vintage British icons including the Jag, Mini, the English Bobby and unmistakable London skyline. Location: / Canterbury, Kent, England Map: / Google Maps Date and Time: / 2 January 2009, 7.58 p.m. to 8.58 p.m. Camera details: / ISO 400 : f/5.6 : 117×30 seconds : 18mm : Nikon D40 : Nikon 18-55mm lens Shot narrative: / This is a combination of 117×30 second images all shot in RAW and then individually tweaked before assembling together in Paint Shop Pro through layers which took just over 3 hours in total. It is my 1st attempt at this kind of shot and the floodlit glow over the trees is from Canterbury Rugby Club a mile up the road.

The rugged 16,000ha Carnarvon Gorge section of Carnarvon National Park is the most popular destination in Queensland’s central highlands. Remnant rainforest flourishes in the sheltered side-gorges while endemic cabbage tree palms Livistona nitida, ancient cycads, ferns, flowering shrubs and gum trees line the meandering main gorge. Grassy open forest grows on the cliff tops. The park’s creeks attract a wide variety of animals including more than 173 species of birds. Aboriginal rock art on sandstone overhangs is a fragile reminder of Aboriginal people’s long and continuing connection with the gorge. Some of the finest Aboriginal rock art in Australia, including ochre stencils, rock engravings and freehand paintings, can be seen at Baloon Cave, the Art Gallery and Cathedral Cave. ...if you were facing this way but most people were going the other way! I have a love/hate affair with freeways, hate being on them but love taking photos of them and seeing this one is only 5 minutes from my house it’s always the one I go to. Walking home from the station I looked up and that damn this is gonna be a good sunset and as I didn’t have enough time to get anywhere near the coast or somewhere beautiful I headed here instead. / Settings Canon 40D, 10-22mm EF-S. On the road again – Kangaroo Island, SA I have to tell you – it doesn’t get much better than this for someone who enjoys travelling and photographing Australia’s great outdoors and its native wildlife. This cute chap is lucky – we were driving along slowly, enjoying the scenery on Kangaroo Island. We stopped to take photos and then usher the Koala off the road. Other critters aren’t so lucky. We have witnessed not only roadkill on our travels but the distressing sight of cars actually running over helpless creatures.
