A girl from Taquile, Island in Titikaka lake is filling her cup with drinking water. The houses are built from mud and stones, and there are no running water or plumbing in the houses. Beds are built in from mud above the floor and a mat is placed on top. I spent two days in this house and the family hospitality was incredible. Little Boat and his friend the lovely White Horse are having fun on the lily pond as the sun comes out and starts to warm up the day for these happy friends…
Squirrel sneaking a drink from the murky swamp waters hanging upside down from a Bald Cypress tree on Bayou Desiard – Ouachita Parish Louisiana. This is one of my favorite shots and honestly one of my first paddling trips to Bayou DeSiard after returning to Louisiana. I had been away for about 15 years. This scene was less than 50 yards from the Public Boat Launch at Frenchman’s Bend. I have seen this behavior displayed many times since this shot, but oddly never noticed it before the day this image was captured. You know the grips in a water bottle… well that’s what this is. I took the aquafina label off, and put some colorful wrapping paper behind it. There was a few bubbles in the water, which looked cool with the texture of the bottle. It looks like a droplet continuously dropping into a puddle to me…haha. Enjoy! I used my 105mm macro lens for this.

If you couldn’t tell I like bubbles and water… I was playing around with fizzy water the other day in a tiny cup and I got this weird effect with the water. The little portion in the corner blurred mysteriously or exploded. I thought it looked cool though. I placed blue metallic paper under the glass and used my sigma 105mm macro lens and flash. Enjoy!
