  • I wanted to challenge myself this past weekend. I think I have described my studio… it’s the office my boyfriend and I share in our apartment. I have a window, a floor lamp, the over head fan/lamp, and another desk lamp. That’s all I have to work with. So I thought, how cool would it be to try to take some pictures of my favorite jewelry and manage to get the gems to light up. It was tricky… and I know I still haven’t achieved the effect I wanted. But practice makes perfect! I plan on doing this again sometime. The first attempt was with my favorite ring. It means a lot to me. A keen interest in jewelry is something my mom and I share. We might not always agree on styles, but we can appreciate a beautiful gemstone. My beautiful sapphire ring my mom bought me a few years ago. I think she got it for me thinking she liked it, and we rarely agree on jewelry so she was surprised when I fell in love with it. It is my favorite ring ever and I wear it when I have someplace special to go. I used to wear it all the time, but I’m too afraid to damage it or lose it that I only wear it if I’m going someplace nice.
