Photographic based digital montage – 2007 (no 2 from series of 3 re-worked). Shot two seperate models & P/S combined them. I also draw in & enhanced part of the headpeice, the body, the dress, added a fringe to the face, hid the eyes, made the features more angular, blew up the lips, created cheekbones, reworked the branches, filtered wallpaper effects, extended the chandelier, added lacework/flower elements, desaturated the lot & added a sepia tone. Thank you to both models who wish to remain anonymous. Approximately 50 Photoshop layers. Just Sometimes (Song of Laughter and Forgetting) by Swervedriver – entered in Red Bubble ‘songmanip07 – Musical Photo Competition’. So many great entries. Regards to all for voting for this peice. This stencil was created in early 2008 inspired by fashion photography and damp cold London. Recently cut stencil with one layer from an older stencil of a zebra in pink on her dress, with hand drawn cobbled stones. The canvas itself is 3 times in length this is just a mere snap shot of the original piece. This piece is 1 of 3, utilising the same same stencil and composition of works I’ve posted on Red Bubble at the moment. The other is ‘snow and umbrella’ and ‘rain birds’

The fact that she said ‘yes’ to this request proves she is just as insane as I am. / - / While setting up this shot I was explaining to my model how flourescent light looks green in camera and that she therefore looked like a single cherry in a bunch of grapes. I think deep down I have a bit of a thing for pirates. When it came time to do this shoot I seemed to have an awful lot of pirate accessories just lying around waiting to be used. It was good to get it out of my system. Only problem is now I can’t stop thinking of excuses to take more pirate photos. One from the same shoot I did for 9, 10 never sleep again. Have used it as part of self promo stuff and called it; ‘Like Valentino with a hand grenade’ (Skid Row lyrics) because I have always felt that that line has summed me up pretty well, as a designer as well as my personal style. :D

This work is to promote the new group Victoriandustrial. What is Victoriandustrial? Victorian with an edgy modern goth, punk feel. Corsets, tea parties, absinthe, Gothic Lolita. It’s subculture baby, alternative decadence. Think tight-laced corsets, decadent tea parties, bloomers, bloomered harlot/rogue, bustle skirts and combat boots. Absinthe drinkers, prince of Denmark, Dandy wretched men in tophat and tales, striped stockings and chains…. Check out the group for more information :P For this work I was trying my hardest to be punky and edgy while really showing off the Victorian style. Lol…Don’t know if I succeeded though…Oh well I had alot of fun making this :P
