  • I watched a cell moving towards Beaudesert on the radar, hoping it would swing towards the coast. Round 9:45pm I decided to go chase, arrived and as I was setting up, a bigger, clean air bolt struck Q1.   • Part of life, sometimes you come unstuck and wait for the pounding of nature.

    No surf along the beaches today, unless you were really keen. Clear afternoon looking towards Surfers Paradise from Burleigh Heads.

  • Had my first trip to Fingal Head with Camera in hand. If I stopped here before it was for a surf – normally we’d just bypass on the way down to Cabaritta or Byron Bay way. The wind was up and I kept one hand on the tripod for safety. / What did we learn? Sunrise would be the go here and preferably a low tide for getting down and around the Causeway. I’d like to go a little wider than my 17-50mm and this might just tip the 11-16mm into my bag. / Causeway @ Sunset with Cook Island in the background. Fingal Head. New South Wales.

  • This area of land opposite Australia Fair has under gone a major facelift. Once this area was a large car park has been turned into an open area and mangroves are to be reintroduced around the foreshore. Stage one costs $32 million.

  • The recently built/finished Southport Pier at Night, Gold Coast. I can see this area of Southport being a new subject for me to Photograph. A vast improvement to what the area once looked and a couple of opportunities will be coming up.

  • Currumbin Rock glows at sunset and the clouds make great reflections on the sand.

  • The joys and frustrations of chasing storms. Point camera towards where there’s been a little bit of activity…...Most of the storm had passed and was hanging over the coast and out to sea except for this rather large one that crept up behind me. / Looking across the Southport Broadwater towards Seaworld, Gold Coast. 17/11/09
