  • The divide of reality vs. the dream world…

  • It was a wonderful summer-morning on that 1st August 2007. I had managed to get up in time before sunrise and cycle the 5 miles to the grounds of the country-house of Groeneveld near Baarn/The Netherlands. A marvellous place for beautiful shots. Especially at that early morning hour when the sun hits the low mist, as it did here at 6.30 am. Half an hour later it is all gone and it is just a normal summer morning. So you have to be right on time! Groeneveld, 1st August 2007, 6,29 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 95 mm / F 25, 1/80, ISO 200

  • A nice memory shot from a beautiful morning in December, taken at the “Ridderoordsche Bossen” near Bilthoven/The Netherlands. Near Bilthoven, 23th December 2007, 11.30 am / Nikon D 80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 105 mm / F 5,3, 1/80, ISO 200

  • A tree reflected in the Garden of Eden ~ Watarrka (Kings Canyon) National Park, Northern Territory, Australia. This is a spectacular water hole surrounded by unique palms in the middle of the parched “Red Center”. I’ve reduced it to black and white and then added some different toning to the shadows and highlights. / Canon G6.

  • I suspect this image will change from time to time. The original is so soft and dreamy, I’m trying extend the effect, but somehow it seems to be forever an unfinished project.

  • Another picture from my old box which may activate your imagination. There are quite a few elements for a mysterious adventure, are there not? The eerie atmosphere, the mist, the dark trees … Good luck in the mystery world! Don’t overlook that I dared to enter the forest on the 13th of a month! Near Lage Vuursche, 13th December 2007, 10.05 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 120 mm / F 5,6, 1/80, ISO 200

  • Landscape, lonesome textured tree and bird, road from Las cabezas de San Juan to Espera, Cádiz, Spain.

  • Valley of the Waters again. Just can’t get enough of that place. It is so tranquil and peaceful. VERY slippery! There is nothing easy about taking any of the waterfalls or creeks photos in the Valley of the Waters, it’s very rugged terrain and often I had to use my hands when getting closer to my object of desire. And it doesn’t help when you try to get long exposures with NDX400 aka Balck glass filter ! I was crouching down for 5 minutes taking this shot, because if it was a bit of track down to that vantage point, where I could get the rock pool behind, ferns reflecting in still water, pebbles and flowing water over the fallen log all into one frame. I also had to make sure the tripod didn’t slid into another pool below. But the worst part was when I stood up after 5 minutes and checked out the photo, it was black – I waited for 5 minutes forgetting to change the camera mode to Bulb! So I had to do it all over again… So, yes, Valley of the Water creek, Blue Mountains, NSW Thank you for looking! Canon 5D / Canon EF 24-105 F/4-5.6 IS USM lens / ISO: 50 / Speed: 290 sec / Aperture: f/11 / WB: Auto / Focus: Manual / Image: RAW, converted in DPP / Filter: Hoya NDX400

  • Another shot from a dreamlike morning in June 2008 on the grounds of the country-house Groeneveld near Baarn/The Netherlands. Groeneveld, 8th June 2008, 6.14 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 42 mm / F 10, 1/20, ISO 200

  • Australian Native Duck, taken in the Chinese Gardens, Darling Harbour, Sydney, Australia, the water reflecting the willows – it looks to me as though the duck is floating in an hallucinogenic dreamworld.
