My interest in dreams and things of the night produced many dark images… this apparition is drawn with paint and ink on paper… the hastily rendered texture adds to the ghostliness of the face. This painting looks extremely creepy in a dimly lit room.
Acrylic on primed masonite board. / Height 70 centimetres, width 60 centimetres. / I experimented with a more painterly approach in this work and used a primary palette.

Oil Pastel And Acrylic On Wood (With Minor Digital Enhancements) All of us need HOPE in our lives and these are some of my favourite quotes on that :D “We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars” – Oscar Wilde “Hope is the dream of a soul awake.” – A French Proverb “The very least you can do in your life is to figure out what you hope for. And the most you can do is to live inside that hope.” – Barbara Kingsolver (Know of someone who needs the extra “lift” in his/her life? Painting / Original art signed by Dorina Costras / 40/60 cm / Acrylic +oil on canvas
Acrylic painting on canvas 36”x24” This painting started as many things. It was a completely different painting and then it was very abstract. I found the dripping texture to be something different than water, the windows more like passageways, the tunnel at the bottom started out as a simple door and evolved. I can’t ever say that a painting is totally complete. I may add a bit here and there, but it started to feel good. I could feel the glimmer as I gazed at it. So I titled it “A Glimmer of Hope”. /
Baby polar bear and fae remind you to pause for a moment and think about how the choices we make effect the world and all that live here.

From a distance it appeared to be simply a playground. As I neared the edge of a small stream surrounded by tall reeds, I could see there was much more than my eyes had first focused on. Great mounds of glittering gold sticks were buried beneath clay. Silver water lilies floated under rich deep layers of seaweed, lichen and moss. From out of the moss jutted flagpoles draped with ivy and scarves embellished with the faces of people I had met many years before. I watched the scarves wave in the wind. I was overcome with emotion and wept upon the steps that led toward a shelter. I ran for cover and lay upon a stone bench surrounded by flowers. Then I drifted to sleep. When I awoke my hair had turned white and my teeth hurt. I sat up and glanced around. I had a faint memory of the experience before my long, long nap. Yet now it looked once again like a playground. So I got up and played. From Inside to the Distance is acrylic on canvas 30”x30”
This WAS the original painting in oils called “Dreaming of Life”. However, I wasnt happy. It did not speak to me. It was dark and I felt nothing when I looked at it. So I have painted over the entire painting. Trying to bring to it what I felt. I hope you like this painting better. Its taken 2 weeks to get it to this from the other one which I will post beside it so you can see the difference. 386 VIEWS on 24/11/09 BEFORE I REPAINTED IT. / AFTER I PAINTED IT AGAIN / Belinda Nye, BillyLee, Billy,
