  • This mural was created sporadically over the course of a couple months at work during my 15 minute breaks. It represents my shifting state of mind from mid-August to mid-October 2008. That time in my life was sort of a rebirth for me, and I felt like commemorating it by drawing it. This piece was all done in ballpoint pen on the back of six old 8.5”x11” coverage sheets destined for the recycle bin, which I salvaged and taped together. My method was essentially the same as for my other Accretions: just sit down and draw without a plan, letting the images come and flow into one another. As always, I later scanned in the image and painted it in Adobe Photoshop CS3. Some of the artifacts of the tape and whatnot are still visible in the final piece, as a reminder of how it was constructed.

  • I created this on heavy bristol paper with colored pencils. My borders are all drawn freehand. I design each border to go with each drawing. The borders and drawings are on the same paper. 40% of the proceeds from the sale of this original will be donated toThe Philadelphia Mission. • Cynthia Lund Torroll draws you into her stark and compelling vision – to a romantic dark place or a mythological confrontation. Using simple paper and pencil, her emotionally charged portraiture is the core element of her fantastic realism. Her work has garnered countless awards and is collected world-wide. For a complete look at her work, including never-before-seen pastiches, see Cynthia’s full portfolio / at RedBubble.

  • 0.5mm pencil on paper Partly Inspired by a song from Motorhead – Orgasmatron, and yeah! them prying eyes and voices in my head conspiring against me. Motoerhead:-:Orgasmatron I am the one, orgasmatron, the outstretched grasping hand / My image is of agony, my servants rape the land / Obsequious and arrogant, clandestine and vain / Two thousand years of misery, of torture in my name / Hypocrisy made paramount, paranoia the law / My name is called religion, sadistic, sacred whore. I twist the truth, I rule the world, my crown is called deceit / I am the emperor of lies, you grovel at my feet / I rob you and I slaughter you, your downfall is my gain / And still you play the sycophant and revel in your pain / And all my promises are lies, all my love is hate / I am the politician, and I decide your fate I march before a martyred world, an army for the fight / I speak of great heroic days, of victory and of might / I hold a banner drenched in blood, I urge you to be brave / I lead you to your destiny, I lead you to your grave / Your bones will build my palaces, your eyes will stud my crown / For I am mars, the God of war, and I will cut you down.
