The artists are / With the blessed curse to be beyond what is safe Suffering nothing / And sharing hungry moments somehow satisfied But a ship at sea we are / And the storms will come and be Being Alive / As the rocks catch flesh falling To feed you to the bellies of life / They are all here waiting to choose upon the carnage Or else, the bacteria you are will come to get you / Nothing is clean Especially the most pristine holy truths’ polished / And shined daily with rags of fearful hopes in hiding Buying predators are known here as the civilized people / Holding no mirrors lest the glass reflects outward Save the art works created so fine here by the lone artists ignored / Whose bones and blood are now here scraped off the street The Wall Street express bus speeding did not see the artist crossing / The Brokers on board had only moment before the starting bell … A good thing / The masterpiece was unharmed and there is no will The auctioneers decide not to say / The price they paid Yet the creation of arts’ fall goes on and on / Long … As the breathing lasts © Copyright 1/11/2008 C.C. The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by SBC, painting, and drawing. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda. It won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007. Thank you for your interest, comments and purchases!

Watercolor , ink and pastel on Canton Paper Finally, I have finished my drawing of Nikki, and I have to say I am wrapt. I hope Nikki is also. / Now for those who don’t know my technique, first I design the composition on photoshop using my models, or muses who send me their faces. Then after that I sketch up the drawing onto a large scale A1 or larger piece of paper. Tape it to the easel and away I go. First it starts with graphite, then ink, then watercolour, then pastels, then conte and a touch of pastel here and there and VOILA! I might enter this in a competition which I have been invited to go into in Fitzroy, not sure if to enter this one or other Lady in Landscape. Please let me know what you think of this drawing in comparison to my digital mock up…some say why do a drawing at all when the digital is just as good. But I hope I have added some artistic freedom to the piece and its not exactly the same. If you would like to be a muse let me know. Thanks for looking . Billy FINISHED DRAWING – date 12.4.08 / Going to enter this works in the Works on Paper Mornington REgional Gallery this year
Montage / A composite of an oil pastel drawing and images of the landscape worked in Photoshop with blending and adjustments tools to get the tonal renderings and contrasts. Cracked Earth / The land is parched and dry and the dog looks to the sky for life giving rain. At dusk the air is cooler, a welcome relief from the heat of the day. / / Australia is ravaged by drought and the skin of the earth cracks and rips open. The land suffers in an impoverished ecosystem, lost to its natural state of wild bush and wetlands forever. The clearing of land, the cultivation and the chemical overload have wreaked havoc. Still there is no rain.
outside of the illusion she lives… / http://www.zazzle.com/andreacreations this was a different kind of dream… it was a trip… / where did she go? / she came back telling many stories of people and places… / she came back like a newly born baby… / she came back to me… / ... to her new life. (drawing made of my daughter’s face when she was in comma, in the hospital. all i had was time to be by her side, so i made many sketches and this one i edited in photoshop)

A pastel painting on Black card paper of just one of the beautiful cascading waterfalls that we have here in Australia. Australia’s waterfalls are a natural wonder and they are hidden gems of the landscape. Deep in the forest lies a gem to be found / cascading water downward bound / sunlight dappling between the trees / nature at its best will always please…. / / Original pencil drawing on Aquarelle Arches paper 56×76cm / Drawing 15 hours/painting 12 hours = 27 hours total A digitally painted hand drawn artwork… the inspiration for this is “Meeting Places”... As a child one of the most frequent things we did together as a family was to attend church on Sundays, I went to a Catholic School and the church I remember best was St Agnes’ at Port Macquarie… the nuns would come over for morning tea sometimes, and the priests would come for dinner occasionally…they were the days of fun parish picnics and life that wasn’t so hurried..when we took time to socialise, meeting and enjoying one another’s company. Mum was/is a great cook and host…and although this picture isn’t authentic as a portrait of her and myself…it’s representative. It’s also representative of new life and hope for the future, as the mother figure is with child….. and the child herself nurtures the wildlife…perhaps she is taking them to church for a blessing… perhaps the joey has lost his mother and needs nursing til he can fend for himself. The kookaburra is all seeing and all knowing….. the wise overseer of the bush… in this case, he stands in as the owl figure.
