  • Silhouette of a Central Netted Dragon (Ctenophorus nuchalis) using the following quote - / / “Our land abounds in nature’s gifts; of beauty rich and rare. Many of Australia’s reptiles may now be threatened with extinction. We can choose to act and make a difference, or allow these amazing creatures to perish. Without your help, these unique animals will survive only in our minds and our children’s imaginations. So Australia’s reptile conservation is in your hands. • We just took a family vacation to Queensland and visited Australia Zoo while we were there (if you get the chance, get along to it. Well worth it). Caught this little chap sitting on a fence railing. He is a Water Dragon and is approximately 6 inches long. It had us in stitches! Every time i took a shot, he would put his hand up. / Nikon D300, 80 – 400mm at 180mm, f/5, 1/200, ISO 400 / . / / . /

  • Please view larger! Featured in Collective Collage – September 09 – Thank you very much to the hosts! Found this charming little creature in my garden, they frequent my yellowwood trees. I just love how her skin looks like a gorgeous pebble mosaic in miniature. She was about 10 cm head to tail and full of fiery attitude – suitable for a tiny dragon like this one. I reckon God has such fun with each chameleon he creates, placing their tiny jewel tiles in place on their perfect armour… Taken with my Canon 400D
