I saw a dragon’s head on the left side of the picture, therefore, I called it such. It is actually the foot of a hot flame eating away the wood in a chimney. This picture was taken at F5.6, speed 1/25 Sec. Iso 1600, Focal length 300.0 mm I used an approach lense too.

isolated green photo lizard
Perhaps the only one in the world (in captivity anyway), this amazing lizard seems to do quite well outside in his enclosure, hopes are to breed him with several girls this season and I wish the owner luck! Incredible specimen. 1998 views

Silhouette of a Central Netted Dragon (Ctenophorus nuchalis) using the following quote - / / “Our land abounds in nature’s gifts; of beauty rich and rare. Many of Australia’s reptiles may now be threatened with extinction. We can choose to act and make a difference, or allow these amazing creatures to perish. Without your help, these unique animals will survive only in our minds and our children’s imaginations. So Australia’s reptile conservation is in your hands. Dragon is a close-up profile of a seemingly fierce (though in reality quite shy) Water Dragon at the National Botanic Gardens, Canberra. Behind the scenes / These creatures may look fierce but in reality are quite timid. And no, they don’t breath fire! They are quite agile creatures and accomplished swimmers, as this dragon demonstrated when it repeatedly leapt off the rocks into the water from some height. / Canon 1Ds mkIII | EF 100-400mm Artwork / A unique photograph with vivid colour and detail. Here is a happy creature – perhaps he is a pollen-breather and is brining flowers into bloom. In any case, it looks like a good life.

Please view larger! Featured in Collective Collage – September 09 – Thank you very much to the hosts! Found this charming little creature in my garden, they frequent my yellowwood trees. I just love how her skin looks like a gorgeous pebble mosaic in miniature. She was about 10 cm head to tail and full of fiery attitude – suitable for a tiny dragon like this one. I reckon God has such fun with each chameleon he creates, placing their tiny jewel tiles in place on their perfect armour… Taken with my Canon 400D
