  Not very often you get the Dr’s Surgery ringing you to make an appointment to come and see the Dr eh. Hmmmmm. Had bloods and Xrays last week and he has the results and wants me to make another appointment to come see him. Hopefully at last he has his finger on it and can now help me on the road to recovery :) :) Will be so good to feel normal again :) :) Wooohooooo :) :)

  Most people are content to just take a normal photo of themselves when they display what they’ve bought on RedBubble… In my case, being a photographer and also completely psyched whenever RedBubble gives me something of top notch quality, I decided to take a slightly more creative route to my Buyer’s Booth photos…. so much so that one person even commented that I should put them up for sale! Not sure if THAT will ever happen, but enough people ask, I’ll consider it. For now, though, let’s reminisce and enjoy!   Okay…so how does a girl get to England to finish the book she’s illustrating and working on with Anthony Hedger when she’s over 4926 miles (7928 km) away and lives on a budget? Well here’s one way… Journeys / Dr Martins T-Shirt Design Contest Not only would my design be printed and worn by over 850 Journey employees but I would also win a trip to London (Yes Tony’s going to have to drive pretty far to come pick me up!!) and some other really cool stuff.   Did anyone read in a recent Australian Women’s Weekly about the first white Geisha? / It’s on page 32 of Feb 2008 issue. Her japanese name is ‘Sayuki’ aka Dr Fiona Graham (she is also a social anthropologist, doco film-maker, author and was a financial journalist in a previous life) It is rather fascinating reading, I’m not sure what to think, but wondered if anyone else would like to share their viewpoint with me on the subject? In a private room in a pub, where you’re allowed to drink, and laugh, and there’s music. And instead of a boring, silent nude the models are crazy circus stars, gorgeous burlesque queens and other fab creatures.. sound like fun?? It is!! I went to the first few Sketchy’s last year, but life got busy at my ex-job and then I started spazzing about my wedding.   I have today sold my 2nd t-shirt, just when I thought I was never going to sell anything else! Huge thanks to Andy Harris for buying Are You My Mommy which was one of my early t-shirt designs, so it is good to see the depths of your portfolio can still be found. Andy also has some nice stuff too, I especially like his Save the Cheerleader… shirt, which seems quite appropriate as I am typing this while my son catches up on the Heroes Unmasked episodes from the Sky+ box.   Ok, so I recently decided that my Cd collection needed to be upgraded from 128kbps to 320kbps. This basically means I have to go through every single CD I own and re-rip it. Why? Well I’d like to claim that I am somewhat of an audiophile and that anything under 320kbps sounds compressed and unlistenable to my sophisticated lugs. Actually, and rather sadly, I just enjoy the process of systematically going through all my CDs…For your interest (if anyone is interested) I’m using EAC with the LAME codec, which is not a fast process. At all. I am currently on the letter D; Dr. John to be precise. I could be a while… On the subject of Dr. John, what would you consider the best letter to file him under? D for Dr? J for John (duh!)? Normally all my CDs are filed under surname eg: Waits, Tom. (followed by year of release, but I digress!...) in the case of Dr. John several difficulties present themselves: / 1: He’s not a real Dr. / 2: He’s also know as Dr. John Creaux, so could concievably be filed under “C” / 3: His real name is actually Malcolm John Rebennack Jr so he could also be filed under “R” / 4: He’s “The Man” & “The Night-Tripper”, and will put the Whamba-Jamba on you if you file him wrong, so it’s probably best to check with the good Doctor First… The majority of my collection: /

  Several years ago, back in 1998, on the internet in cyberspace I began typing to a person I had never met in real life. It was just another faceless entity. This man I called mr_angel. The words would flow with ease. We conversed in typing for several years on a daily basis.Then we began to send cards at Christmas time. We confided in eachother. We spoke of many things that we maybe wouldn`t have said to someone else close to us. He was having many difficulties in his personal life. I listened alot and tried my best to help him through those times. He was having many issues to deal with divorce, Dr.`s, lawyers, family, living accomodations, loss of job, the works. I communicated with him through all this.Time passed. A lasting friendship had been built out of this. I helped him the best I could. When things got better for mr_angel, he decided to surprise me. He came to thank my family and myself in person. He traveled many miles to meet the strangers who helped him through the bad times. Then after a few days in our town, mr_angel went back home. / we continued to communicate via phone and the internet. However, mr_angel ran into some difficulties. He was at a gas station and the canopy over the top of the pumps fell and hit him on the head. It knocked him unconscious. He had alot to endure afterwards. I had lost communication with him. The site we were communicating on closed down. mr_angel didn`t have alot of computer knowledge. He had lost my phone number and his was no longer working. He had also moved so I had no address to write him. Circumstances were leading him in other directions. When I had last heard from him, he was having severe headaches, from the accident. I tried many times to locate him. Although I was fearful of contacting his family. I wasn`t sure how things were between them all. I wanted nothing but to know he was alive and ok. Anyhow, several years had passed since I had heard a word or had a card at Christmas time from mr_angel. His last known address I had, but that had changed. I think it was the year 2001 or 02 he had that incident at the gas pumps. I had gotten a card that December. Several months passed and I had heard nothing from him. Then the months became years. I had began to think the worse. I asked other people on the internet that lived in his state if they heard of him. Or knew him. I had contact with some people that lived in the city that he lived in but they didn`t know him. However they had ways to tell whether the person was residing in that town. They investigated and he was no where to be found. I contacted by e-mail the town`s newspaper editor to see if they would have any contact with him. mr_angel had wrote an article in their paper once. I recieved no reply. I began to feel hopeless about the situation. I felt the loss of a great friend. We had communicated on that daily basis, on the internet for more than 3 years, prior to meeting. / Then today, I wake up to the phone ringing. The voice on the other end says, “Hello!” / I yell out “Oh, MY God..(Put his name here), I thought you were dead! Lord have mercy! Thank God! it`s you and you are ok!” He replied ” How about coming to the coffee shop downtown, so you can see just how okay I am”. I woke up the husband and the grandson and we all met for coffee. It was the most delightful morning wake up I have had in years! What a beautiful sight to behold! I pray we never lose contact again. I know we won`t be communicating as often as before. For the circumstances have changed for the better. For that I also thank the good Lord! I`m just so delighted mr_angel is alive and well, and things are looking up for him and his family. He is still divorced, yet I believe there is some understanding and acceptance, which replaced hurt and pain. / Back on mr_angels last visit he saw this stained glass angel and wanted his photo taken beside it. We had sent him the photos afterwards. Those photos were lost somewhere in the shuffle during his moving from place to place So today we revisited that very same angel. We did a remake of the photos. However, the stained glass window with the angel wasn`t the only angel I saw today, and for that I and my family are truly greatful.

For mains I served a turkey, / that I’d stuffed inside a goose, / and a kilo of beef jerky, / in a tub of chocolate moose, Dessert was frozen fish cakes, / with sardines set in jelly, / and a tuna flavoured milkshake, / blended with trevelli. that bug deserved a medal, / for eating all that food, / so I gave it a rose petal, / and a photo of me nude !

  To my surprise …It looks like sales of the ‘Barack Is My Homeboy’ shirt (which I honestly thought was an awesome print and had the right political connotations to attract the funky youth supporters), have actually been overtaken by people snapping up the ‘Dr. Che Guevara’ T’s which has left me baffled…does Big BO, possibly have less of a following than a combination of the late marxist revolutionary and a dedicated hip hop producer??? And if so should Andre ‘Dr.Dre’ Young be running for VP???!!!
