  • Actually, it’s a Lara Landscape but with the lens flare (and a previously admitted overdose on Dr Who) I sort of feel it looks like a luna landscape. I know you think the moon is just craters and dust but what if it was all lies? What if they never really did go? Or they went and took pictures like this? (yeah, I know…)

  • That strange and wonderfull part of the late afternoon on a stormy day where the sun breaks through the clouds for a minute and lights the landscape

  • And I say the emporer dalek did NOT want to dress up as a Christmas Tree. Fortunately he is asleep at the moment but when he wakes up I don’t think he’s gunna be too pleased….. Made use of some of my dalek toys. Couldn’t resist it.

  • Don’t worry! We’ll say The Doctor did it! Dastedly Daleks have been up to mischief with the Emporer Dalek and guess whose gunna get the blame! A different take on my dalek models but the same theme.

  • On a recent expedition, I discovered this old rail tunnel in the Lincolnshire Wolds – which was no mean feat,- I had the nettle stings, mud scrapes and bruises [from being whacked by various tree branches during my ‘controlled descent’ of the overgrown gulley] to prove it! The tunnel seems to be Victorian, from the steeply vaulted roof, and is ‘faced and lined’ with higher grade materials [for show] at each end but bellies out to a larger bore built of red brick further in. There’s no trickery with this one, only ambient light and a ‘star effect’ courtesy of an f8 aperture.

  • Further inside… No self respecting abandoned tunnel would be without an eerie dripping sound,- Benniworth even has stalactites. I wanted a slightly more abstract composition for this one, so decided to concentrate on the vaulted ceiling and exclude the ground altogether.

  • For it’s length, Benniworth has surprisingly few alcoves… If I was an engineer with a steam train bearing down on me I wouldn’t fancy my chances of running on all that track balast! Whereas the previous shots have been ambient light only this one had 3 light sources – Magoo2’s blue LED torch for the alcove, my big bad ‘Nightsearcher’ for the main tunnel, and ambient light coming in from the distance… Again the star effect is a natural result of an f8 aperture over time.

  • This has been a massive project for me and at times very daunting. I began it in January 2008 and today (06/08/08) it is finally finished (I think). • This bird was not an easy one to capture he is very volatile, keep on hopping from branch to branch and tree to tree all the time, I always have my camera on handy so the last day of my vacation, early morning on the balcony, I got lucky and here he is in all his splendor for you to enjoy! Taken As Is in Samana the last morning of my vacation, with my Camera Photosmart HP R927. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Palmchat, Dulus dominicus, is a small, long-tailed passerine bird, the only species in the genus Dulus and the family Dulidae. It is thought to be related to the waxwings, family Bombycillidae, and is sometimes classified with that group. The name reflects its strong association with palms for feeding, roosting and nesting.Palmchats feed on fruits and berries, including those of palms and of the Gumbo-limbo tree, as well as on flowers, especially those of epiphytic orchids.[ / The Palmchat is the national bird of the Dominican Republic. / The species is endemic to the island of Hispaniola (politically divided between the Dominican Republic and Haiti), including the adjacent Saona and Gonâve Islands, where it is common and widespread. It inhabits areas from sea-level to 1500 m as where palm savannas can be found, or other open areas with scattered trees. Where its food trees are present, it has adapted well to city parks and gardens.
