  Link listing of free software relating to graphics and imagery. These are either freeware, open source or donationware – not free trials. Some are “light” or free versions of a full-version software. As with anything, PLEASE READ THE TERMS OF USE and Licensing for each thing you download. Just because it is free that doesn’t always mean you can use it for commercial outputs. I have not tried all of these personally, so I can’t give you recommendations on their functionality; the graphic/paint programs which I have used (some I still use for certain things) may have notations of my opinion on them, but it is just that, my own personal opinion. Many of these are available for both Mac and PC, but you’ll have to go check at the link site yourself – make sure you check the system requirements before you install anything (mamy older programs may not be compatible with WindowsXP or Vista), and be sure you have an up-to-date antivirus. I have accessed all of these links and downloads with no warnings, but it pays to be safe. One last thing…if you use free software and find it useful, please donate to the creators (or upgrade to the paid version if they have one at reasonable cost) when you are able. Donations are how we can encourage free software makers to continue making the software free. MINI ANIMATORS FOR ANIGIFS Unfreez2 I have been using this since the days of “blinkies” – this is probably one of the tiniest programs – takes up no space and almost no memory and creates an animated gif. You need to have all your files ready to go when you use this. There is no time line, and not much in the way of control, so it’s not for those who use more sophisticated programs. It will, however, make a decent animated avatar. Pivot by Peter Bone. A stick-figure animator. There is a sample on the homepage. Another very simple program to create small anigifs and and avatars. Click the software link to go to the download page. GRAPHICS & PHOTO Editing PaintStar – supports 30+ file formats, image morphing, full editing/graphic tools, supports layers and multiple paths. Freeware. GimPhoto & GimPad / GimPhoto is a GIMP modification with a new menu layout, a great selection of plugins, and many additional resources for a more professional look and feel in a digital photo retouching and image editing application package. It more closely resembles the look of Photoshop. Portable Gimp You can run this version of GimpShop from a thumb drive, or cd/dvd instead of installing it. Be sure to read the installation info – you will need to download at least one other file if you want the interface to look like Photoshop. There is a third file that gives you the PS background window, however, I did not download this since it is buggy. I recently got this Portable Gimp for my new laptop (already own two versions of CS (2 & 3) for different computers, so I can’t afford another version for a travel computer (particularly when I don’t plan to do much editing on it). The laptop has Vista Home Premium on it, and this portable version with PS GUI file installed seems to work just fine. New Photobie and Photobie Studio Both versions are free. There are also helpful forums and tutorials on the site. NOTE For anyone interested in other “portable” applications, the “PortableApps”: site has a goodly number. You can find the page here These are all freeware or open source, and it includes the Mac OS (an older version – see Mac-on-a-stick). Ivy Generator – not really an editing program, but it generates fairly realistic ivy for use in your collages or other imaging. Artrage2 (free version & paid version is only $25 – freeware version is somewhat limited but good for basic art) Artweaver (decent simple painting program with variety of drawing styles and supports layers and transparency – good for creating patterns and texture) Cenon for mac or linux (haven’t used this since it won’t work on PC, but it looks interesting and I’d love to try it) Gimp (one of the most powerful open source image editors with an interface and functions similar to Photoshop) ImageMagick Inkscape Vector Graphics program (a bit of a learning curve with this; similar in function to Adobe Illustrator) Paint.net (drawing and paint program; supports layers) Pixarra’s Twisted Brush Free Edition Pixia Drawing & Painting) Photofiltre – this version is free and does not support layers, the studio version is 29 euros (the studio version supports layers and transparency and has many functions similar to Photoshop) Project Dogwaffle Free Version Serif DrawPlus Skencil Vector Graphics Smooth Draw Nx MobaPhoto – not an image editor or paint program, but useful to create image galleries for websites. PANORAMA MAKERS Open Source Panorama Tools Autostitch Canon Panorama Stitch PanoGuide FRACTAL PROGRAMS Fyre – random image generator. This is pretty cool. Please be sure to check the model downloads for licensing terms. If you are unsure about using a model in a sellable product, email the modeler – they are usually very good about responding. Mostly they don’t want you sell or give away the model/mesh, but will usually allow it’s use in a rendered image for sale. If the license doesn’t state that it is available for commercial use, please don’t use it without contacting the owner first. A simple email from them will act as a license for your renders. If they don’t allow it, please don’t do it. Other Useful Utilities Revo Uninstaller – very good program to help in uninstalling programs that don’t come with their own uninstaller. Yes, windows has an uninstall function, but sometimes there are bits left behind. Revo can help with that. Freeware CCleaner A cookie cleaner that cleans out a lot more than cookies. It can also do a registry check and remove unnecessary entries. Freeware PC Inspector Smart Recovery – recover image files from memory cards Startup Control Panel For those who want to control what programs load on startup, but aren’t sure how to do it, this small control panel applet is a useful tool. (I’ve loaded this onto both my daughters’ computers because they don’t understand how to stop the unnecessary programs from loading. This little program was easy to explain to them.) Those who understand computer maintenance and techs won’t need or want this, since you can do the same from your control panel. Startup Monitor A small program that monitors your startups and notifies you when any program/file registers itself to run at startup. RunAlyzer, FileAlyzer, RegAlyzer – from the makers of Spybot S&D RunAlyzer / Gives an overview over many relevant system settings, intended to replace the Tools section currently integrated into Spybot-S&D. FileAlyzer / FileAlyzer allows a basic analysis of files (showing file properties and file contents in hex dump form) and is able to interpret common file contents like resources structures (like text, graphics, HTML, media and PE). RegAlyzer / RegAlyzer is a tool to browse and change the registry. Office Software Open Office.org (comparable to MS Office) Floppy Office (a software package containing a dozen applications. The entire thing will run from a thumb drive, a floppy, or your computer. A very small download for those with connection issues. Contains a useful ftp client.) Computer Security & Antivirus Software How to Remove Antivirus XP, Antivirus XP2008, Antivirus XP2009 (there have been a spate of infections of this nasty, so it seems helpful to include this link, which also includes appropriate software downloads). How to Remove VIRUS ALERT (ditto the above) Spybot Search & Destroy – variety of functions including cleanup of malware, adware, browser protection, system internals and other uses. HijackThis – helps remove browser hijacks, homepage hijacks, identify & remove malware, adware, trojans etc. NOTE: do not use this on your own if you don’t know anything about computers. If you need help to identify and clean up computer infections go to What The Tech (formerly TomCoyote forums) and post your problem in the appropriate forums. If you need help or explanations, bmail me. A-squared – very good anti-trojan. They also have pro versions of the anti-trojan, as well as anti-malware. Malwarebytes – a variety of useful anti-malware tools. Tried and true; I’ve used some of these quite often to clean up other computers. Adaware Free – adware removal tool (other tools available, though not necessarily free) – I don’t use this one personally. AVG Free Antivirus – Free antivirus & browser protection. I’ve read some minor complaints about false-positives with this, but I’ve been using this for about five years with no complaint. I also install this on every computer I clean. One thing to note about some OEM software installed on new computers – products like Norton & MacAffee: the subscription for free virus signature updates will often run out after a year or two – be sure to check yours if this is what you use. This happened to both of my daughters – thinking they had antivirus software. Avast Free Antivirus – another decent freeware antivirus I’ve used. ThreatFire (formeryly known as Cyberhawk): “ThreatFire is different. It does not rely on signatures, but instead constantly analyzes your computer’s behavior to detect and block any malicious activity. ThreatFire protects immediately so you know your PC and your valuable data is always secure.” Rather than listing all of these available products (which there are many – but be careful, because some will cause more harm than good to your computer) here’s a trusted site where there’s a decent listing of helpful programs: Freebytes Guide to Free Anti-virus/Anti-malware Pacs Portal A fairly large listing of computer start-up programs (.exe files) and what they do, or what they are used for, and whether or not your computer needs them to load on start-up. It also lists start-ups for trojans and malware which makes this site extremely helpful in identifying the files that are loading in your process list. CHILDREN There are also some drawing & paint programs in the free/open source category available specifically geared to children in age ranges from 4 or 5 to 10 or 12. Encourage the artist in your children from a young age. Tux Paint Drawing for Children Smooth Teddy LAST BUT NOT LEAST Here’s a site that I check every day. I’ve gotten a couple of pretty decent programs from here. They offer a licensed software download for free, every day. To get it licensed you must download and install it on the day it’s given away – and you need to follow the activation instructions in the downloaded zip file. Give-away-of-the-day There are two drawbacks here: most of the time the software offered is of no use or interest to me personally (that doesn’t make it bad, it could be that stuff offered is very useful to someone else), and secondly…if your computer crashes or you buy a new one, the software license can’t be recovered or transferred to another computer. There are, however, times where the software will be offered again at a later date. NOTE: you can’t always trust the thumbs up/thumbs down ratings. A lot of people will give the software a thumbs down because it’s of no interest to them. I’ve been following this site for about six months, and I have a number of programs I use (including Business Cards MX3.9, Wondershare’s WebVideo Author, Sound Editor Deluxe, A2 Antiwaremalware, Moyea Flash Video MX, Acoolsoft Powerpoint to Video Converter, Photo Story Gold, iSpring Pro, Wondershare’s Photoo Collage Studio and their Flash Slideshow Builder, and Dogwaffle’s “PD Particles”), Dogwaffle Project (not the free one), and like from them, along with 3 games. You can scroll through some of the previous give-aways on the main page to see the variety of stuff they offer. On the weekends, they offer a free game give away on their sister site Game-give-away-of-the-day This is not a complete listing of all freeware available, but it is fairly representational of what’s available, from the simple to the more complex. If anyone has links that fit these categories, please feel free to add them in the comments section, or bmail them to me and I’ll add them into the body with a notation of who submitted them. / __________ One of the reason’s for this compiled list is that I find myself frequently pointing people to links for software of this nature. The following chart was made to help take the guess work out of how your t-shirt design colours will look after Red Bubble’s colour conversion. I simply took a CMYK swatch palette from Photoshop and put it on a t-shirt in Redbubble. As a result, all the colours were converted. Update- I’ve now added coordinates so you can easily find the relating colours between each swatch set. -In the first block of swatches is an extensive range of CMYK colours which you can use while in RGB or CMYK mode to colour your designs. On the bottom is how these colours will be converted on RB’s shirt design preview. As I add new tutorials, this list will change, but every once in a while I send out an update journal. Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago I accidently deleted a folder that contained the tutorials (among other things), but up until someone bmailed me looking for one of the tutorials, I hadn’t figured out all that was missing. The face you want to move could be in two situations. / Two Situations Situation #1 You have two photographs of the same group of people. The photographs were taken moments apart from each other. Grandpa Gumpo has a great expression in one of the photographs. In the other photograph, Grandpa Gumpo looks like a bee has just stung him. You want to cover Grandpa Gumpo’s bee-stung-face with his good-smile face. To do the above, go to File > New > Photomerge Group Shot. Don’t use Photomerge Faces. That’s for combining facial features to make a funny face. Situation #2 This tutorial is for the following situation. You have a photograph of a group of people. You want to add a person to the group that wasn’t in the group. Moving the face is easy. Integrating it into the group photograph is complicated. If you’re an intermediate user of Photoshop Elements, stick around. Beginners should come back later! 1 – Open the Two Photographs Let’s say you have a photograph of Uncle Fud. And, you have a photograph of a group of people, the destination for Uncle Fud’s face. 1) Open the photograph of Uncle Fud and the photograph of the group. / 2 – Select Uncle Fud 2) Double click on the thumbnail of the Uncle Fud photograph in the photo bin at the bottom of your screen. 3) Select Uncle Fud’s face and upper body. Hair can be difficult to select. You can select a few pixels of the background around Uncle Fud’s hair. Later, if necessary, erase these pixels of the background. 3 – Copy Uncle Fud 4) Press Ctrl + j. Uncle Fud is now on a new layer all by himself. 5) Rename this layer Uncle Fud. / 4 – Do You Need to Flip Uncle Fud? You may need to rotate the Uncle Fud layer horizontally, left-to-right. Do this if the lighting is different for Uncle Fud and for the group. Check Uncle Fud’s Light Direction Look at the lighting on Uncle Fud. Figure out where the light is coming from. Look at the shadows and highlights. Let’s say the light is coming from the left side in the Uncle Fud photograph. / Check the Group’s / Light Direction Next, look at the group photograph. Is the light coming from the same direction as in the Uncle Fud photograph? Let’s say the light is coming from the right side in the group photograph. When you put Uncle Fud into the group, he may look odd. He’s lighted from the left. Everyone else is lighted from the right. / Back & Front Lighting If one photograph has light was coming from behind—and the other photograph has light from the direction of the camera—there would be no need to flip Uncle Fud. 5 – Flip Uncle Fud Do the following, if necessary. 6) Make sure the Uncle Fud layer is selected (highlighted). 7) Go to Image > Rotate > Flip Layer Horizontally. Make sure you select: Flip Layer Horizontally—not Flip Horizontally. Uncle Fud has flipped. A person may look different when he or she is flipped left-to-right. However, correcting the difference in lighting probably outweighs any unnaturalness due to the flipping. This is even more true when the face is small in the group photograph. / 6 – Move the Uncle Fud Layer To move the Uncle Fud layer to the group photograph, do the following. 8) Make sure the Uncle Fud layer is selected (highlighted). 9) Press Ctrl + a. You’ll see the marching ants on the edge of the image. 10) Select the Move tool. 11) Click, and hold, on the large image of Uncle Fud in the center of your screen. Don’t click on the Uncle Fud layer in the layers palette on the right side. So, you’ve clicked on Uncle Fud in the center of your screen, and you’re holding the mouse button down. 12) Drag Uncle Fud onto the thumbnail of the group photograph in the photo projects bin at the bottom of your screen. 13) Double click the thumbnail of the group photograph in the project bin. The Uncle Fud layer is now on the top of the layer stack in the layers palette on the right side of your screen. If you haven’t already, go to Move a Layer. Uncle Fud Background copy (Group of people) Background Layer Stack in the Photograph of the Group / Note: / Edit the Group Photograph, Now You have moved the Uncle Fud layer to the group photograph. You’re finished with the Uncle Fud photograph. From now on, you’ll be editing the group photograph only. / 7 – Reposition Uncle Fud 14) In the group photograph layer stack, make sure the Uncle Fud layer is selected (highlighted). 15) Select the Move tool 16) Click, hold, and drag Uncle Fud. You can reduce the opacity of the layer to better see how to integrate Uncle Fud into the group. Fine tune the position by using the arrow keys on your keyboard. You’ll probably have to resize Uncle Fud. His head may be too small or too big. / 8 – Grid You can use a grid to make it easier to resize Uncle Fud. 17) Go to View > Grid. 18) Use the Zoom tool to enlarge the face of the person in the group nearest to Uncle Fud. Let’s say Aunt Joan is next to Uncle Fud. 19) Count the number of boxes from the top of Aunt Joan’s face to the bottom of her face. / Note: Grid Box Size If the grid boxes are too small or too big, change their size. Go to Grid in Preferences. / Windows Edit > Preferences > Grid, or press Ctrl + k. / Mac Apple menu > Preferences > Grid. / 9 – Resize Uncle Fud Let’s say the height of Aunt Joan’s face is eleven boxes. Uncle Fud will be “standing” behind Aunt Joan. So, make his face a little smaller than eleven boxes. 20) Make sure the Uncle Fud layer is selected (highlighted). 21) You may want to deselect the Eye icons of the other layers, so you can see Uncle Fud more easily. 22) Go to Image > Transform > Free Transform, or press Ctrl + t. A box will appear around Uncle Fud. 23) Position the cursor directly over the bottom right corner of the box. The cursor will change to a straight double arrow (not curved). Press and hold Alt, click and hold the mouse button down, and move the corner of the box to resize Uncle Fud. Pressing and holding Alt keeps the aspect ratio of the Uncle Fud layer intact. Again, make his face a little smaller than eleven boxes high. 24) Click the green check mark to keep the transformation. If you haven’t already, go to the Free Transform Tool. 25) Go to View > Grid to hide the grid. 26) Reselect the Eye icons for the other layers. / Note: / Don’t Degrade Uncle Fud If you make a mistake when resizing Uncle Fud, it’s best to go back to just before you resized the layer. The Free Transform tool adds and deletes pixels. Therefore, if you resize and click the green check mark, and do it again, and again, the Uncle Fud layer will degrade. Use one of the following methods to backtrack. / Undo Arrow So, if you don’t like the new size of Uncle Fud, click the blue Undo arrow icon until you return to the operation you did just before using the Free Transform tool. / Undo History Go to Window > Undo History. There, select the operation done just before using the Free Transform tool. Then, close the Undo History window. You’ll go back to just before you used the Free Transform tool. / Note: / Tucking Uncle Fud into the Group Uncle Fud’s body isn’t tucked into the group yet. He’s floating above the group! He doesn’t have legs! Not to worry. We’ll tuck him into the group after correcting his Levels and color. / 10 – Levels 27) If the exposure and contrast of the Uncle Fud layer are different from the group, do the following. a) Make sure the Uncle Fud layer is selected (highlighted). b) Go to the Create adjustment layer icon (“yin-yang”) and select Levels. Don’t make any corrections yet. c) Click OK. d) Make sure the Levels adjustment layer is selected (highlighted). d) Go to Layer > Group with Previous, or press Ctrl + g. The Levels adjustment layer and the Uncle Fud layer are now grouped. Look for the tiny black arrow pointing down in the Levels adjustment layer. Because they’re grouped, the correction from the Levels adjustment layer will be confined only to the Uncle Fud layer. The Levels adjustment layer won’t affect the group. e) Reopen the Levels adjustment layer by double clicking the graph icon (6.0), or gears icon (7.0), in the Levels adjustment layer. f) Make your Levels corrections to match the exposure and contrast of Uncle Fud with that of the group. g) Click OK. The layer stack will look like this. ↓ Levels (Grouped with Uncle Fud) Uncle Fud Background copy (Group of people) Background / Note: / What about Doing / Levels for the Group? You used Levels on the Uncle Fud layer. When we’re almost finished, you’ll do Levels on all of the layers to make the entire photograph look its best. / 11 – Color Correct Uncle Fud The color of the light that illuminated Uncle Fud, in his original photograph, may have been a different color than the color of the light on the group. People won’t notice slight variations in the color between Uncle Fud and the rest of the group. So, you don’t need to match the color perfectly. 28) If the colors of Uncle Fud and the group are substantially different, try one of the following two color correction methods. / Automated Method / Correct Uncle Fud’s Color a) Make sure the Uncle Fud layer is selected (highlighted). b) Go to Enhance > Adjust Color > Adjust Color for Skin Tone. c) Click on Uncle Fud’s cheek. / Sliders Use the sliders to fine tune the color. The Tan and Blush sliders affect the skin tone. Is Uncle Fud more tan, or more blush? The Temperature slider can be used to cool (blue) or warm (red) the color. / Better? Does Uncle Fud’s color match the group better? If not, correct the skin tones in the group. Do the following. / Correct the Group’s Color d) Make sure the Background copy layer is selected (highlighted). e) Go to Enhance > Adjust Color > Adjust Color for Skin Tone. f) Click on Aunt Joan’s cheek. But, don’t click on her too-thick rouge. You have now color corrected both layers. Their color should be similar now. / Photo Filter Adjustment Layer Method If you’re somewhat skilled at judging color, create a Photo Filter adjustment layer. a) Make sure the Uncle Fud layer is selected (highlighted). b) Go to the Create adjustment layer icon (“yin-yang”) and select Photo Filter. Don’t make any corrections yet. c) Click OK. / To Group or Not to Group Do you have a Levels adjustment layer already grouped with the Uncle Fud layer? If so, you don’t need to group the Photo Filter adjustment layer with the Uncle Fud layer. The Photo Filter adjustment layer will be automatically grouped with the Levels adjustment layer. So, skip ahead to f), below. If you don’t have a Levels adjustment layer grouped with the Uncle Fud layer, do the following. d) Make sure the Photo Filter adjustment layer is selected (highlighted). e) Go to Layer > Group with Previous, or press Ctrl + g. The Photo Filter adjustment layer and the Uncle Fud layer are now grouped. Look for the tiny black arrow pointing down in the Photo Filter adjustment layer. Because they’re grouped, the correction from the Photo Filter adjustment layer will be confined only to the Uncle Fud layer. The Photo Filter adjustment layer won’t affect the group. f) Reopen the Photo Filter adjustment layer by double clicking the filter icon in the Photo Filter adjustment layer. g) Click the tiny black triangle to open the filter menu. h) Select the filter according to the chart below. The boldfaced filters are the most commonly used. / If Uncle Fud Is . . . Use this Filter / Too cool (blue). Warming Filter (81) / Too warm (red). Cooling Filter (82) / Too cyan (blue/green) Red / Too violet. Orange / Too blue. Yellow / Too magenta (pink). Green / Too red. Cyan / Too yellow. Move the Density slider back-and-forth, and click OK. The layer stack may look like this. ↓ Levels (Grouped with Uncle Fud) ↓ Photo Filter (Grouped with Uncle Fud) Uncle Fud Background copy (Group of people) Background 12 – Tuck Uncle Fud into the Group Do the following to blend Uncle Fud into the group. / Preparation 29) Make sure the Uncle Fud layer is selected (highlighted). 30) Reduce the opacity of the Uncle Fud layer. You need to be able to see the shoulders of Aunt Joan and others. / Understand What Needs to be Selected Let’s say Aunt Joan is standing next to Aunt Bea. Uncle Fud is going to be between, and behind, the shoulders of the two aunts. So, you need to select from their shoulders down. / Select You’ll select the two aunt’s shoulders, and the upper parts of the their dresses. The Magnetic Lasso tool may be the best selection tool for this task. 31) Make sure the Background copy layer is selected (highlighted). 32) Deselect the Eye icon for the Uncle Fud layer. You don’t want to select Uncle Fud. You only want the aunt’s shoulders and the tops of their dresses. 33) Select the shoulders of Aunt Joan and Aunt Bea, and continue the selection down on portions of their dresses. 34) To save the selection, go to Select > Save Selection. Enter Aunts as the selection’s name, and click OK. / Copy the Selected Area Onto a New Layer 35) Make sure the Background copy layer is selected (highlighted). 36) The Eye icon for the Uncle Fud layer should still be deselected. 37) Press Ctrl + j. The shoulders and dresses are now on a new layer. 38) Rename the layer Shoulders & Dresses. / The Shoulders & Dresses Layer Should Be in Register The Shoulders & Dresses layer should be in register with the Background copy layer. That is, the shoulders and dresses of the two aunts on both layers should “line up”. If for some reason, the Shoulders & Dresses layer is askew, from the Background copy layer, do the following. a) Select the Shoulders & Dresses layer (highlighted). b) Select the Move tool. c) Move the Shoulders & Dresses layer using the arrow keys on your keyboard. / Drag the Layer to the Top 39) Click and hold on the Shoulders & Dresses layer, and drag it to the top of the layers stack. This how the stack of layers should look. Shoulders & Dresses ↓ Levels (Grouped with Uncle Fud) ↓ Photo Filter (Grouped with Uncle Fud) Uncle Fud Background copy (Group of people) Background 40) Select the Eye icon for the Uncle Fud layer so you can see him once again. 41) If the opacity for the Uncle Fud layer is still below 100%, move it back up to 100%. / What Happened The Shoulders & Dresses layer is covering up the part of Uncle Fud that’s “behind” the two aunts. / 13 – Erase Uncle Fud’s Beer Belly An unneeded portion of Uncle Fud may be visible on the photograph. This part is visible if the Shoulders & Dresses layer doesn’t go down far enough to cover up the lower portion of Uncle Fud. Let’s say you can see the plunging necklines of Aunt Joan and Aunt Bea. But, there’s a portion of a hounds-tooth sport coat, with a beer belly sticking out, on the aunt’s dresses. Do the following. 42) Make sure the Uncle Fud layer is selected (highlighted). 43) Select the Erase tool. 44) Click and drag on Uncle Fud’s sport coat and beer belly. / 14 – Check His Hair Above, it was suggested that you select some of the background around Uncle Fud’s hair. If the background shows, erase it. Do the following. 45) Make sure the Uncle Fud layer is selected (highlighted). 46) Use the Zoom tool to enlarge Uncle Fud’s head. 47) Select the Erase tool, and use a small brush. 48) Click and drag on any background around Uncle Fud’s hair that shouldn’t be there. / 15 – Levels Now is when you do Levels on the group. 49) Make sure the Shoulders & Dresses layer is selected (highlighted). 50) Create a Levels adjustment layer, make the corrections, and click OK.   I recently added a journal entry on how to show off your calendars by embedding the individual preview images for the cover & each month here . Last Friday we released some new functionality to allow you to preview your calendar via a downloadable pdf file. This gives another way of being able to publically show your calendar, and potentially via different means. If like before, you go into mybubble -> calendars -> edit calendar -> buy/preview then you should now see a link below your preview image saying “You can download a reduced-quality PDF preview here”. Here is a link to my snow calendar as a PDF, the same one as in the previous journal article. This is a file of only a few MB that can be downloaded and saved or opened up in acrobat reader. Note that this is low quality preview only, it does not have the full detail of the final printed version. The idea here is it gives you a little more detail than the standard web preview, and allows for your whole calendar to be conveniently ‘shared’ in one file. So, you can copy that link (right click in your browser and select the appropriate option) and then do things like embed it in your journal entries, add it to emails, or put it on other websites as you would like. You could also attach the saved pdf to an email, and send it directly to an friends or family that may be interested in seeing/buying your calendar.

This is my first effort – or shall I say, the program’s first effort (since I didn’t know SQUAT about what I was doing when just clicking options. LOL!) The program is pretty shocking in its complexity and the results are equally shocking in their beauty. Uh, I sorta forgot to mention the one most important thing up front: this is a fractal and ChaosPro is a fractal creation program. If you’re interested in grabbing this free program, here’s the link but be patient and try more than one download if the one you get doesn’t work. I wasn’t able to get any of the last 3 versions/updates because they all were bad downloads. The good news is that you can go a long ways down and still get a fantastic program. And if it’s worth me downloading on DIAL-UP, you can be sure it’s well worth the time. LOL!
