My Auntie Jean makes time every day, knitting jumpers and beanies for children orphaned by AIDS in Malawi. This is part of a voluntary global knitting initiative, which has been underway since 2006. / As each child is dealing with grief along with physical hardship, with each jumper and beanie a small “comfort doll” is added. To date some 16 000 jumpers, beanies and comfort dolls have been made and sent to orphaned babies in Malawi, and 630 000 worldwide. / The shipping to Africa and distribution are co-ordinated through a small charity called Australian AIDS Fund, though the knitting project is a separate entity. Any proceeds from the sale of my Comfort Dolls photo will be sent directly to Auntie Jean to help finance her wool purchases. / / (public domain image – Malawi knitting project)

Berlin Wall, montage
John Lennon Wall, Prague / After John Lennon’s assassination in 1980 mourners in (then) Czechoslovakia painted images of Lennon and words of love and condolence on a large inner-city wall in Prague. The communist authorities had the wall painted over. Undaunted, the fans put up new poems and art, and thus a tradition began. No longer painted over by authorities, the John Lennon wall is a massive artwork in progress, continually being painted over and over and densely layered with words of love and peace from individuals all over the world. Power to the people, right on! /

I recently watched IT Crowd S3 and as a homage to this great show decided to create this design. This design was also a tribute to my other IT Crowd Shirt selling 80 copies. Thank-you everyone for your support. I made this design by taking screenshots of the intro of the IT Crowd and then printing them out. I then used photoshop to draw the design by glancing over at the printouts frequently. The text used is: http://www.dafont.com/ds-digital.font P.S A buyers booth pic would be rad :)
The closer we get to insect life.. the more alien their world becomes! A photo I took of a dragonfly in China, edited using an infrared filter to give the image an “alien” look and feel to it. What does this photo say to you? How does it make you feel? I would be happy to hear your thoughts on this image. Please, don’t forget to tell others if you have enjoyed this piece! Camera: Sony A700 / Lens: 100mm @ f/4 / ISO-100 1/250 sec. Thank you for stopping by, / Douglas
