I have a black and white version of this as well.
Westfield – Nov 2007 – I’m not sure if it’s British or Dutch, it gives me that old pub feel.

Painting of everywhere and nowhere. I love the patterns made by rooflines, chimneys, windows and doors.

Some churches simply have to greatest doors! I found this one with a vivid red door in Cape May, New-Jersey, USA. Simple hardware with a beautiful patina, polished with use, on a plain bright colourful door. Finished in 6th position of Top Ten in the WARM: Reds-Oranges-Yellows challenge of the Simple by Design Group on March 8, 2009 . That one was easy, as there were only 9 entries! ;-) /
A companion piece to our very popular Doors of New Mexico poster, this grande dame of a poster will look fantastic anywhere in your home. Like a walk through the French Quarter, you’ll find all kinds of fun and mystery in these beautiful photos featuring colorful, washed out, or just plain fascinating porches and doors.
The adobe-walled courtyard with street access is typical of southwestern U.S. architecture. Doors are often painted in bright colors and it is not unusual to see adornments of skulls, horns, or fanciful handmade ornaments representing desert flora or fauna. In this case, we have a set of horns and a tin lamp shade that has been decorated with a punched design depicting a quarter moon. The sunset is a transplant from another photo. This courtyard and door can be found in Pena Blanca, New Mexico, on state highway 22. The photo is an HDR merge performed in PSP XII. Taken with a Pentax K20D.
Once housed art and crafts / Now hollowed reminder of the past / Color coded to forget / A life rich in elegance I was inspired by my love for the Roycroft Inn to write this little poem. Built in 1895, the Roycroft Arts and Crafts Community had many buildings to house the artistic community and unfortunately a fire claimed one of the elegant buildings years ago and now lays in ruins. / East Aurora, NY Casio Exilim /
Hoboken, N.J. Hoboken lies on the west bank of the Hudson River across from the Manhattan, New York City neighborhoods of the West Village and Chelsea between Weehawken Cove and Union City at the north and Jersey City (the county seat) at the south and west. / Hoboken was originally an island, surrounded by the Hudson River on the east and tidal lands at the foot of the New Jersey Palisades on the west. I’ve shot a lot of southwest doorways. The colors, the textures, and the contrasts combine to make this my personal favorite. The warmth and richness of the wood offset the coolness of the adobe nicely and the flowerpots add a nice welcoming touch. This is a 3-shot HDR. Pentax K20D, 1/60 @ F6.3, ISO 100, 200mm
