  • Open the Door and Let Her In…... The woman watches / As the broken man begins to dance, / Could it be that in her presence / He is falling apart, / Or that the warmth of her gaze, / Finds him gradually becoming whole again. / His freedom, her absolution. The words fall useless on the ground, / Letters spilling into the dirt / Meaning discarded, / A blank page lays crumpled before her / Staring without judgment / At her trembling hand. / Reason is beyond reproach. Time tiptoes past unnoticed / On its way to someone else’s story / Hope follows regardless / And the sun rises and sets / On useless thoughts unguarded. / Who dares to walk this path? / Yet who dares to not. / / The woman listens / As the silent man begins to sing / The words dust themselves off / And join the fragile notes / In a private dance of healing / Truth’s melody cuts through time / And lays memory bare, Forgive me, it sings / I am only human. Thank you from the heart to Linaji / for her nomination of myself and this artwork, to the amazing Pay It Forward Group. I am deeply honoured to have my work included in this prestigious circle of creative souls, so thank you to the group hosts and especially to dear Linaji for her nomination and the following beautiful words that went with it….. / / “Wendy Slee has my vote for her image Forgiveness and her poem of the same name. Wendy and this image came to me at a perfect time in my life when I was at the point of allowing total forgiveness towards my father. Since that moment when I viewed her stunning work I have enjoyed a relationship with this amazing Soul. She is a leader here on the bubble and is fearless where her heart burns bright. Her exceptional work in Wildlife Appeal and her perfect timing in my life as friend and Co-Creator makes it easy for me to nominate Wendy and her work Forgiveness here at Play It Forward. Congrats you sweet heART!! You Deserve So Much!!”

  • These make excellent birthday cards ! I am designing 12 images based around the months of the year and the old Celtic luna months. They will reflect the changing of the seasons and the ever turning wheel of the year, the magic and mystery attatched to each part of the cycle and any special festivals falling in those months. I hope you enjoy them as much as I am enjoying creating them :) Blessings Angie* “October – and the skies are cool and gray / O’er stubbles emptied of their latest sheaf, / Bare meadow, and the slowly falling leaf. / The dignity of woods in rich decay / Accords full well with this majestic grief / That clothes our solemn purple hills to-day, / Whose afternoon is hush’d, and wintry brief / Only a robin sings from any spray. And night sends up her pale cold moon, and spills / White mist around the hollows of the hills, / Phantoms of firth or lake; the peasant sees / His cot and stockyard, with the homestead trees, / Islanded; but no foolish terror thrills / His perfect harvesting; he sleeps at ease. “ William Allingham

  • I love the decayed walls and doors on Venice! / This one pen and ink with some gesso and Schminke Watercolour on Medoc Velin paper( Ruscomb Mill)

  • SEGAL, FRANCE / / Driving into Segal after visiting the Castle of Bouillon, the house at the end of the road captured my attention and began to lure me. / I HAD TO GO INSIDE! Johan check that house out! lets go in and take some shots! INTERDIT! but Johan found a way around the back. The gate was ajar so we squeezed to get in. Homeless people had made part of it a semi residence, where exactly we could not see. / / It was a maze that went up and down and even further down the bowels of which lurked in the earth. We found a stairway that was the only way up. The stairway was burnt out it seemed as though the fire took the top floors only. We helped each other up and onto the second floor. There were no footprints in the ash and the smell of smoke still lingered. How long ago was the fire? no idea. It was very spooky, 3 floors above ground level and im not sure how many below but did not want to find out. /

  • The founding of St Mary’’s is given as 800 AD, it is probable that the church was begun as early as the late 6th century. Deerhurst occupied a position of importance in the territory of the Saxon Hwicce, a subkingdom of Mercia, and the church was the most important in the region. In the year 804 Aethelric, son of King Edmund of the Hwicce, granted land at Deerhurst to the priory, he and his father were probably buried at Deerhurst. In 1016 Edmund Ironside and Canute chose Deerhurst to sign a treaty dividing England between them. In the 11th century Deerhurst was the home of Earl Odda, one of the most powerful of Edward the Confessor’s nobles. Odda was responsible for the chapel which bears his name, which was completed shortly before his death in 1056. After Odda’s death the priory lands were given to the monastery of St Denis, in France, and the chapel passed into the hands of Westminster Abbey. The monastery was later the property of Tewkesbury Abbey, but at the Dissolution of the Monasteries the priory was disbanded and the church became the parish church.

  • Best on Full Size Wandering around my cousin’s farm in Davidsonville, Maryland, I fell in love with so many images. This was taken from the inside of an old tobacco barn which we calculate to be well over a hundred years old. This image is a compilation of two shots, both my own. The barn image, RAW, taken on my Manfrotto tripod, was shot on a disappointingly gray and overcast October 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300. Shutter 1/500, aperture 5/11.0, exp 0.00, iso 1600. Sky image, a hand held jpeg, was taken August 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300, shutter 1/640, aperture f/13, exp -.67, iso 400. Lens was 18-200mm vr Nikon in both cases. After the image was combined, I created an hdr in Photomatix by duplicating the jpeg to evals of +1 and -2 in Photoshop. Lots of Photoshop tweaking including addition of 2 textures. Also available without texture: /
