This is exactly how it looked in 1989. The ivy stays here year round. It’s weird, because it’s barren outside; winter. But when you step inside (which isn’t hard..you simply step through the wall) it looks like a summer day. Very odd & surreal feeling. Taken last week, standing in the basement looking up at the back door. More from the abandoned farmhouse series soon. :) And Happy New Year everyone!! / It’s 8:37 p.m. here. I get the feeling I’m the last sober one around here.(not for long…ha.) / / >featured< / sold: 2 mounted prints (RB artists) / / More from this series: / / Welcome Home / Tattered And Torn / Wild Horses / Watch Your Step / I Remember You / / /
went to the Brecon Beacons in South Wales at the weekend and photographed these beautifull, mystical trees coverd in moss and lichen. They inspired me to do a bit of artwork :-) Doorway comes from St. Konan’s Kirk, Loch Awe,Scotland
taken at Fountaines Abbey in Yorkshire – and amazing medieval monastry – this is Fleur trying to get in a locked door.
Where do you go when you fall asleep? I have also received the prestigious nomination from the ‘pay it forward’ group, from Mark Jones with the following words.. “I have a number of favorites, but this one by Basia is so Stephen King like and as I love working with light to create an image, it inspires me to try it, somehow. Dreamscape / It leaves you asking, “what is behind the door”. Sold: 1 x laminate + 1 x matt print + 2 x cards

Nothing fancy here, just my trusty old G2, a great old house and whole lotta gorgeous light!
Original photography. Looking through the window of an abandoned house in rural North Carolina.
Open the Door and Let Her In…... The woman watches / As the broken man begins to dance, / Could it be that in her presence / He is falling apart, / Or that the warmth of her gaze, / Finds him gradually becoming whole again. / His freedom, her absolution. The words fall useless on the ground, / Letters spilling into the dirt / Meaning discarded, / A blank page lays crumpled before her / Staring without judgment / At her trembling hand. / Reason is beyond reproach. Time tiptoes past unnoticed / On its way to someone else’s story / Hope follows regardless / And the sun rises and sets / On useless thoughts unguarded. / Who dares to walk this path? / Yet who dares to not. / / The woman listens / As the silent man begins to sing / The words dust themselves off / And join the fragile notes / In a private dance of healing / Truth’s melody cuts through time / And lays memory bare, Forgive me, it sings / I am only human. Thank you from the heart to Linaji / for her nomination of myself and this artwork, to the amazing Pay It Forward Group. I am deeply honoured to have my work included in this prestigious circle of creative souls, so thank you to the group hosts and especially to dear Linaji for her nomination and the following beautiful words that went with it….. / / “Wendy Slee has my vote for her image Forgiveness and her poem of the same name. Wendy and this image came to me at a perfect time in my life when I was at the point of allowing total forgiveness towards my father. Since that moment when I viewed her stunning work I have enjoyed a relationship with this amazing Soul. She is a leader here on the bubble and is fearless where her heart burns bright. Her exceptional work in Wildlife Appeal and her perfect timing in my life as friend and Co-Creator makes it easy for me to nominate Wendy and her work Forgiveness here at Play It Forward. Congrats you sweet heART!! You Deserve So Much!!”

Inspired like a lot of my work, by the book The Secret Garden. I am facinated by / the notion of secret doors which may lead to magical experiences or new adventures.
This is a copy of a Mod that Rain did for me a long time ago. I can’t find the Original so I have tried my best to emulate what she did for me :) See HIS

Best Viewed Large One of the most striking aspects of Venice, Italy, apart from the glorious cathedrals, famous bridges and other magnificent and historic structures … are the intriguing dwellings lining the canals. The romance and mystery reach out and grab the imagination by the heart … some of us leave our hearts there … hoping someday to return!! Image taken in July of 2005 with the hand held Olympus C-5000 zoom point and shoot. Post processing included some Photoshop tinkering and a trip to Photomatix for hdr with a single image, eval +/- 2. I subsequently put the image into Corel Paint 11 for some brushstroke work on the flowers.

A door forced open by the forces of nature. namely a tree growing up through concrete. The Kingsbury Ordnance plant sat upon land acquired by the us government during ww2. some 13,000 acres were designated for this facility and it was operated throughout the war and then once again reopened for the Korean conflict. This is one of my favorite abandonments to visit.
