One of my dad’s antique teapots, Japanese I think, with a bit of a treatment.
You can tell when Princess Aqualia gets angry. The octopus on her head glows pink and orange. You don’t want to cross an angry little Sea Princess wielding a fish truncheon. (Digital collage using brushes, textures and old photos/images/mixed media collage)
I went out snapping today, trying to capture a few early spring blossoms on stark winter branches. Then I ran a few actions and applied some selective colouring and voila – Le Fleur Rouge!
Variations on a Theme – same image processed digitally in different ways. The photo itself is ‘as taken’ – I was standing under a tree, on top of a hill, it was late in the day and I was lucky to get the light and the blueness of the sky. The processing comes from different blending modes in PS.
It was a foul day today (gales, driving rain and bad light) but I managed to get some shots of magnolias and this cute little bird. / : / : / All images taken at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Melbourne. / : / : / Various images laid out in photoshop, set into a custom frame and with a few textures overlaid. / : / : / 31st August 2008 / : / : / Inspired by: / ‘Blackbird’ / (Lennon/McCartney) Blackbird singing in the dead of night / Take these broken wings and learn to fly / All your life / You were only waiting for this moment to arise. Coming in to land…
I’m trying to get together enough images in my ‘six scenes’ series to make a calendar. So here is a little selection of Oriental-theme images to continue the series.

100% digital…. ;-)
Marie-Antoinette was incarcerated at The Conciergerie – this beautiful fairytale-looking building which is situatied alongside the Seine. It’s such a pretty building.
A new series based on objects found at the beach.
Inspired, in part, by a discussion about reliquaries. / . / . / . / A collection of images taken in Paris…
Part of a series of things found by the sea.
Another playing card for the series.
Part of an ongoing series….
Her friends noticed that she had become a little ‘eccentric’. Something was different…there was a mustiness about her. Nocturnal journeys, pale skin and a penchant for bugs. It was all a little bizzare.
I had thought up the rather corny title of ‘The Many Faces of Paris’ for this piece. I can’t think what else to call it. It’s a collage of ‘face’ photos taken around Paris, many of them from cemeteries. Digital TTV.
It’s a blossom. That’s all. Digital TTV.
Inspired, in part, by the song ‘No Strange Delight’ by Roxy Music. It was released in 1980, on the album Flesh and Blood. It still is, and always has been one of my favourite songs.
I am doing a series of collector cards, similar in size to a playing card. Not sure why – the idea just popped in. Something will come of it, eventually. A vague theme for these is the emotion inspired by the colours in each card. The photo used here is not mine. It comes free for public use from here
Number three in a series of three. The caption on this one reads: A four finger massage for the cheeks keeps them firm and free from unsightly hollows. Also in this series: PeekABoo 1 / PeekABoo 2 /
It’s hard to capture the lovely pink flowers of the cherry blossom against a blue sky when it is only blue for 30 seconds at a time, with the cold wind howling and moving the branches. Update: I’m thinking I need to get rid of the Japanese writing…
These little glass photographs were set into the back wall of a sepulchre – in a cemetery in Paris. When the sun shines, the pictures light up, somewhat bringing the subjects back to life. Quite a clever way to achieve some sense of eternity…
Things must be pretty bad when the angels are praying.
