Dear Ron, / As your doctor, I strongly suggest less high fructose corn syrup… Sam Dantone
SOMETIMES THE EYES POSSESS NOTHING MORE THAN A DEEP HUNGER. A HUNGER WHICH ONLY A VAMPIRE WOULD RELATE TO. I’M GREEN WITH IT…
I do a fair amount of work like this. I call it doodles, but it is something more concentrated than the typical phone scribble. Some pieces contain something recognizable, some are pure abstraction. Other than planning out the face, the fill in all freely flows from the fingers via a ball point pen. Sam Dantone
This is a detail of a larger piece. It is simply Prismacolor pencils on black mat board.
I just want some alcohol and anonymity… I just want to be loved… I just want it to be closing time… I just want it to never be closing time… I just want to make this shot… Sam Dantone P.S. This piece is 100% #2 pencil. ... and just for the record, this and many of my pieces, like this, are purely from my head. I rarely use reference to get my images. I like to test myself and see how much detail I can get out of my memory and imagination…
See journal entry Medium is all ball point pen.
This is my entry in the Doodle-Do group’s challenge, Doodle Vs. / The challenge is who would win in a Bear vs. Octopus fight. It seems that the bears are the Under-Dog in this fight. Now that Under-Bear is on the scene it is no contest… “That’s right my name is Under-Bear. What of it? You Octopussies thought you had the numbers… Ha! I’ll take you all on. After I’m done with all you eight legged freaks my clan is here to back me up for the feast.” The idea was to see who would have the numbers in this fight, so, since Under-Bear is being backed up by his clan, technically the Bears have it. Sorry about all the violence. It is not my true nature, but someone had to take on the Octo-tyranny… All in fun… Sam Dantone
Assemble all ye consumer humans. Get in line for your demise. Soon your mind will no longer be needed. The human race will have no beginning or end and no winners. Sam Dantone

I just never know where my pen will take me next. This is a depiction of that place between sleep and consciousness when you POP awake in the middle of the night. The mind can go anywhere while the fog lifts and the eyes adjust to the dark. What monsters are under your bed? Sam Dantone

This is my last installment of this series. I wish I had more to add because I am no less busy and have no new work to show.
