Pens on paper.
ball-point pen on paper. available on t-shirts.
My art is based on everything I see around me. This is from the idea that eyes are the windows of the soul. A2 on cartridge papar with a G-Tec C4 0.4 pen. Can be viewed any way up it is up to you.
Hand drawn A2 image on cartridge paper with a G-Tec C4 0.4 pen probably took about a year to do, but I don’t pay attention to the time or the drawing until it is nearly complete. Just been looking to buy some more pens and found out the drawn line is only 0.2mm! Featured in Works on Paper winner of the Patterns challenge in Finks in Ink
I saw another rainbow image called “Raining Rainbows” so i decided to change the name of this one :o) / Come Check Out my Group Just Rainbows This is one of my Singlets on Zazzle i looove it :o) / / /
I do a fair amount of work like this. I call it doodles, but it is something more concentrated than the typical phone scribble. Some pieces contain something recognizable, some are pure abstraction. Other than planning out the face, the fill in all freely flows from the fingers via a ball point pen. Sam Dantone
I just want some alcohol and anonymity… I just want to be loved… I just want it to be closing time… I just want it to never be closing time… I just want to make this shot… Sam Dantone P.S. This piece is 100% #2 pencil. ... and just for the record, this and many of my pieces, like this, are purely from my head. I rarely use reference to get my images. I like to test myself and see how much detail I can get out of my memory and imagination…
8.5” x 11” / Uni Ball ball point pen / Below is a scan of the under-drawing in progress. Sam Dantone
I just never know where my pen will take me next. This is a depiction of that place between sleep and consciousness when you POP awake in the middle of the night. The mind can go anywhere while the fog lifts and the eyes adjust to the dark. What monsters are under your bed? Sam Dantone
It looks like Godzilla, but due to international copyright law, it’s not! Update: New colors now available!
Coloured Pencil and Ink on 280 gsm Glass Ivory Paper - / (40cm x 60cm) Worked on this one for over a week, through the wee small hours of the mornings. All my art is cathartic, it’s how I balance my life, creating is my reason to go on. When I’m up I create, when I’m down I create, creativity is my balance. I did this as one of my first experiments into coloured pencil art, and found the whole ‘colouring in’ process so very relaxing and calming. I couldn’t help but feel happyness and joy while doing this. I spent every moment I could as a child, laying on my tummy, drawing, colouring. Nothing has changed, I’m still laying on my tummy, drawing, colouring (lol) Views: 703 as at 25-11-2009 / Favourites: 38 as at 25-11-2009 FEATURED in ‘Coloured Pencil Art’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Fantastic Primitive Art’(June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘First Things’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Hand Drawn or Painted Art of Happiness & Joy’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Freedom to Shine’ (June 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Fantastic Primitive Art’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Colour Me a Rainbow’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Creative Cards’ (July 2009) / FEATURED In ‘Globes, Spheres and Curves’ (July 2009) / FEATURED in ‘The New Beat Generation’ (August 2009) / FEATURED in ‘Spectacular Spirals’ August, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Healing through Art’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Oh so emotional (happy)’ November, 2009 / FEATURED in ‘Healing through art (HTA)’ November, 2009 /
Coloured Pencil and Ink on Textured Glass Ivory Paper 120gsm 60cm x 40cm / I worked day and night on this one, all weird hours of the night, I was obsessed with this artwork, my head was just busying with ideas and images and I needed to do this for my own sanity. Ink on 120 gsm Cartridge Paper (A4) digitally reversed (one of my first digital experiments) Views: 1392 as at 25-11-2009 I did this doodle whilst in hospital. I’d had some ‘funny’ heart beats and pains, hence the title. I rocked up at the emergency department of our local public hospital with a huge bag of art materials; ready for a 4-5 hour wait…..but, as soon as I mentioned pains in my chest…..well I didn’t even get to sit down, I was taken straight through and hooked up to all these monitors. So I spent the next 4 -5 hours in a bed (much more comfortable than the waiting room). I’m sure I have ‘Obsessive Creative Disorder’ because I can not stop drawing, creating, painting, doodling …..and no stay in hospital was going to stop me. I’m sure this was the most healing part of my stay as it really relaxed me, because deep down I really was scared.
