French BullDog French Bulldogs are one of my favourite breads of dog, simply because of funny look they have on their face. When I was in Switzerland a few years ago I remember sitting having dinner at an up-market restaurant. I could heard this snotty labored breathing nearby. I turned around to see what it was and there were these two french bulldogs sitting upright at the next dinner table staring over at me and my food. I will never forget their comical and stark expressions.

This is my tribute to Muntazer al-Zaidi. The legendary journalist who threw his shoe at George W Bush during his farewell visit to Iraq. Clearly it is based on Banksy’s “Flower Chucker” stencil which is based on a photo from the 1968 riots in Paris. I’ve tried to keep it faithful to both Banksy and Muntazer by illustrating his head as close as possible to the original press conference image, in the style of “Flower Thrower”. I also illustrated the shoe to fit his hand just nicely and added a bit of definition to the fingers. Love to know what you think. Good riddance George Dubbaya. Muntazer al-Zaid may be the thrower, but you certainly are the tosser. / / / / / / /

Brit is another addition to the mikoto dog family. it was requested by Big Fat Robot and is a tribute to my friend matthew’s old bulldog Rumpole. They are not the most energetic dogs as you can tell by Brit’s interest in the tennis ball. This is the drawing it is based on. Tiger Bot is standing in until its inspiration the Tasmanian Tiger (or Thylacine to the technically minded) comes out of hiding. He’s quick to empty and has self-cleaning HEPA filters. There are rules regarding food at kids parties! Grab the brightest and messiest stuff you can find, mix in a whole bunch of sugar and preservatives, and, where possible, put several items into your mouth at one time. If you can mix sweet and savoury together, then all the better. This shirt celebrates the junction of two great party foods: Fairy Bread and Hot Dogs. It’s the FAIRY DOG. Go on, I know you want one. EXTRA NOTES: A fairy dog says “happy birthday” just as much as champagne says “congratulations”. Eating fairy dogs brings back your youth. Fairy dogs are the national dish of Partistan. While fairy dogs are fine with tomato sauce (ketchup), they should never be consumed with mustard. That’s just gross. If you are celebrating a very important and formal occasion, this recipe may be altered slightly by replacing the “hundreds & thousands” (pretty coloured sugary sprinkles) with those really posh little sugary silver balls on which you can also break a tooth.
