This house was next to my father-in-law’s place in the Algarve, southern Portugal, and every morning these dogs rested their snouts in these roof windows while taking a snooze. They couldn’t believe I waited almost a week before taking their picture!

Yes I know what you’re all thinking…It’s ANOTHER PET DOG!!!!! Don’t panic you arty farty types…it’s only up for a limited time whilst I make some cards for a friends present. My Dog Series: #2 “I’d rather take a bug in the eye” The dog loves car rides, don’t open the car door when she is around unless you were meaning to go for a ride. The Shetland Sheepdog, often known as the Sheltie, has been intentionally bred small. Shelties are ideally suited for the terrain of the Shetland Islands in Scotland. While they resemble a rough Collie in miniature, they are not a true miniature Collie, as there are many differences in appearance. The Shetland Sheepdog is an outstanding companion dog and is intensely loyal. It is lively, intelligent, trainable, and willing to please and obey. Shelties are loving, loyal, and affectionate with their family, but are naturally aloof with strangers; for this reason Shelties must be socialized. Some can be quite reserved. Shelties do well with children if they are raised with them from an early age; however, their small size makes it easy for a child to accidentally injure them, so supervision is necessary. Exercise caution when considering an adult Sheltie for a family with young children; they may not be compatible. Shelties are vocal herding dogs. My Irish Setter (Tallow) having fun in the snow in order to get this shot I had to walk my dog knee deep in the orchard, have him sit and then retrace my steps on the way back. I did this so that when I took the photo you wouldn’t see my footsteps in front of Tallow (my dog). I did this 3 times and then ran out of orchard. This was the best of about 50 shots. Oshie, a rescue dog, checks out the beach during a beautiful sunrise on the beach in Port Orford, Oregon. Oshie is a shepherd mix who loves to run on the beach… and roll in unidentifiable dead things that she finds. She somehow became unwanted by her former owner when she was only about a year old.
