  • This is our new pup Phoebe Roo ( she’s like a kangaroo) she’s an Italian greyhound, only 13 weeks now. I have a pic of my other dog Millie on here so to be fair I took one of phoebe too.She has this one ear that is always sticking up. She is so fast now we cant even catch her, she sure is stirring up the house, we just love her to pieces !!

  • This was my second attempt at color pencil. She was a commission for graphite, but I knew she would be so much better in color and that the client would really prefer color. So I jumped in and tried it, and this was the result. Think I’ll do more… 8X10 Color Pencil on Stonehenge 100% cotton vellum 250 GSM paper.

  • Narrative / http://www.redbubble.com/people/edwardfish/journal/1046376-an-audience-with-the-hapless-narrative The Making of / http://www.redbubble.com/people/edwardfish/journal/1046719-the-making-of-an-audience-with-the-hapless Extract / By now, still unable to contain his amusement the dog was rolling about the room as his master swatted and flapped with one hand whilst pulling bird after manic bird from his throat with the other. And then with a thud to the back of my head came blackness. / Waking to find myself face down on the floor, I could hear the grating wheeze of the dogs laughter and the tinkling of broken glass falling from my back as I rose to my knees. I rubbed a tender spot at the base of my skull, and then my eyes. / Through a haze of dust and feathers the scene before me gradually came into focus. The frenzied attack on my host continued, and it was clear that despite his bravery, his efforts to fend of the relentless beasts had become futile. / However, at the very same moment his eyes had suggested a man resigned to his fate, with a swipe of his glove he was able to buy himself enough time to reach into his overcoat and pull out a large shiny object which he tossed into the air. / The object – a medal of the grandest order- fell at the feet of the sniggering hound. The dog looked down at the prize and breathed out a deep sigh of smug satisfaction. “Well…” gurgled his battle worn master, by now at the limits of his patience: / “DON’T JUST STAND THERE LIKE AN OVER GROWN FRICKIN GOOFBALL…D-O-O-O SOMETHING!!!!!”

  • OMG the very talented RACHEL LEIGH has nominated JUST BOOTS for the Pay it Forward Group She said ” “I love this photo because I know how difficult it is to get good pet shots and the lighting is just superb in this photo. Boots is as cute as can be and she captured him beautifully!” To me this is the highest compliment, thanking you so very much Rachel :O)) Waiting patiently for his morning walk…... Boots our dearest Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, has the unfortunate name, as being black and tan he has golden lower legs. He was born during the rugby world cup when England actually won something and as his breeder was a rugby fan she called him Golden Boots, after Johny Wilkinson! Started photography May 2008 Sold laminated print RB 23/03/09 BILLYBOY gave the most wonderful compliment when choosing Just Boots. I’m actually kind of glad this is in the Paws & Claws group because now that I’ve been given the opportunity to choose a picture from the group to single out, it’s fitting that my favorite pet picture of all time is right here so I can tell the world just how deeply I love it… / There are so many ways this works for me. The depth of field and selective blur draws attention to the perfect focusing on and around that amazing face, and I like the way the crop being slightly off center works so perfectly with the drape of the ears and the shape of the body. / The lighting is perfect and so natural… no blown out highlights or loss of shadow detail… the quality and direction of the lighting bring out that amazing detail in the facial fur and allows for that subtle reflection on the contrasting smooth surface into which he seems to be slowly melting. Also, the color space of the background matches the subject so perfectly that it’s a pleasing image to the eye even without taking the artistic level of the content into consideration. But I think what REALLY gets to me about this amazing shot is the affect the shooting angle has on drawing me into this pooch’s character. We’re down at his level, as if on equal terms with his world, and I feel as if I’m staring straight into his soul through those deep and all-knowing eyes… the connection between me and Boots is personal through this stunning image. This is a massive work of art and I am honored to be able to exaplin why it’s so special to me. Thanking you so very much Billy, it is such a wonderful compliment. xx Taken with my Sony F717, 800 ISO equiv. Lighting courtesy of my daughter holding a torch as there wasn’t enough natural light! Changed partially to sepia, then bluring and darker tones added for mood…..... Would make a super card ideal for any occasion, Birthday, Thank You, etc…. © Copyright 2008 Squealia, All Rights Reserved /

  • Yesterday and today I work on this painting of a dog (I think it is some kind of Spaniel). I really wanted to exceed myself with this one. Mainly I make paintings with a neutral background, but this time I really wanted a theme. So I turned on some nice classical music which immediatly brought my in the mood for this painting, but than again, music is painting with notes hahaha. The photo really captured that moment when someone calls their dog and they look up at you just a moment before they jump up and run towards you. As I did not like the background in the photo I tried to make my own background out of several other photo’s. It was really hard to blend in the dog with the background with his shadow, but also because the dog is in a somewhat different style than the background. I have the painting as my desktop background and I just cannot stop watching, to me that is a good sign ;-) Best regards, Odwin

DIGITAL PORTRAIT PAINTING – PHOTO PAINTING SERVICES Featured in Animal Portraits, Cats & Dogs, – March 11, 2009, in Paws n Claws June 2009 & in PhoDOGraphy July 27, 2009. I took the original photo of my friend’s dog last summer with my Canon DSLR at a campsite in Ontario. I really liked the image but wanted to kick it up a notch :) I redid the entire image in Corel Painter starting with a gentle watercolor blend of the background. I then repainted the entire collar, cloned out some distractions and gave it a vibrant and new red tone. Every single piece of hair on the dog was then painted & blended with watercolor and airbrushes. • This image for me is an image of the Jesus of all street dogs. Icon, like it or not. Gringa is one of those abandoned street dogs we are trying to find a family for. She´s now living in a dog´s shelter. It´s heartbreaking to see all the street animals here in Lima. It´s a time for a new religion. It´s time for a better world. Do not buy! Adopt friends!
