  • A still, calm evening at Dog Rocks and we were blessed with the sunset colours shimmering on the small lake !!

  • This is a mixture of watercolour and pastel and is of the Wansbeck, a local river where we spent most of our childhood – a time of wartime restrictions and no home entertainment beyond board games. In those days we fished for food rather than sport. Regardless, it was great fun.

  • Another shot of the Dog Rocks at sunrise on foggy morning. / Aggressively adjusted the levels and cross-processed the image. / Added my sky photo. Added several texture layers in various blend modes. / Nikon D300 with 18-200 mm lens /

  • Pastel on Colourfix sanded paper – 70cm x 50cm This was a commission for the chap depicted in the painting and he wanted his little dogs included as well as his prize rams, with a backdrop of his farm. This was 2006 and he had just cut his hay. (the paddock on the right). I don’t think there would be anything like this amount of growth now! Featured in Imaginative Realism – Sept 2009 / Featured in Creative Cards – Sept 2009 / Featured in Landscape Painting – Oct 2009

  • This was shot in 2006, Canon 20D, 16-35mm at 35mm, f/9, 1/250”, ISO 200, 9:39am, same day as The Last to Leave Seascapes / New Zealand / Frogs / Lensbaby / Infrared / Industrial / Spam / Panorama / Landscapes / Real Estate Series / People

  • another quiet night at Dog Rocks by myself…..where were you all?

  • ....sometimes it pays to turn around. / You’ll notice that this is a view from behind the Tree, not the traditional view. Most of us that go there mainly photograph it from the other side…. something made me turn around on this particular night.

  • Taken at Dog Rock’s (where else ?) tonight, have not been there for a long time

  • Pastel on Canson Paper – 50cm x 25cm Another one that I’ve dragged from the archives! I let the warmth of the coloured paper do most of the work for me! I hoped to provoke a feeling of nostalgia in this commission, where a view of the property was required, together with the farmer (not a “young” man himself) and his very old, and much loved, dog!
