Featured in Image Writing – December 28, 2008 / —-—-—-—-—-— / In my dreams I am walking along the forest trail. I have a white cotton dress on, my hair is tied back with a ribbon, and my bare feet feel cool as they caress the dew on the grass beneath me. I am a child again – young, free, innocent…trusting. Wild daisies frame the wooded trail. Their soft white petals sparkle as the rays from the rising sun kiss the dew on their tips. The flowers giggle as the butterflies and honey bees flutter about their centers. Just like Cinderella, my favorite fairy tale, the bluebirds and chickadees are following me along the trail. Playfully, they tug at the ribbon in my hair and sing their beautiful melodies as they gracefully fly about. The squirrels and chipmunks are busy gathering acorns and the wonderful scent of fallen leaves fills the autumn air. I hear a rustling in the woods. The berry vines along the trail are swaying side to side, giving way to something approaching our cheerful morning parade. I wonder what it could be? Slowly, quietly, two young fawns emurge and shyly ask if they can join us on the trail. I’ve never seen anything so sweet, so majestic, so pure. Their backs are dappled white and their eyes are big, dark and beautiful. The morning sun kisses their cheeks with warmth and sparkles off their eyes like stars. They look like little angels. Yes, I believe they are. In my dreams nature is full of angels. They come in all shapes and sizes – reminding us of the beauty that surrounds us each and every day. Take the time to stop, look, and listen….you just may hear their whispers and be blessed with something magical. / / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / My story is inspired by this image and my image by the story. Although we really do have twin fawns around our property (and this is one of them), this is actually a composite of the same fawn I was fortunate enough to capture pictures of – as I walked along the trail in the early morning light :o) / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- / ADD RENEE TO YOUR WATCHLIST
