I was given this litte poem from a friend when I had my double mastectomies 8/14/2004. I thought it appropriate to show with the lovely flower blooming from my garden and put next to my peaceful water fountain in my living room. Mainly not for whom wrote the statement Lady Bird Johnson a democrat which I am not, but to remind all that our election is a very few weeks away and that life is precious so please stop and smell a rose or two. Think of how God has blessed each and every one of you. Yes, we all have had and are most I know experiencing some of the greatest turmoils in our lifes right now. We deifinately DO NOT NEED, CHANGE for the wrong reasons! We need to look for hope in the future and experience of long term committment that has been shown, the fresh faced approach of a young family who is commited to helping our country with all the “reality tv” it can slam at their faces in a 24 hour day and still put a smile on. We have to step back and think what a team we have that can deal with that kind of pressure and not fall to that. So, let’s all move forward for the right reasons, get on your knees and pray we know that there is hope for this country for all who serve and are serving now. Let’s not forget to vote and leave all their hard efforts in dismay!

WAY, WAY, WAY BACK WHEN I WAS YOUNG WE DIDN’T SEE MANY DEER IN NORTHEAST OHIO…( HEY, I HEARD THAT DINOSAURS CRACK…THAT’S NOT FUNNY !! ) NOW THE POPULATION HAS GROWN, ESPECIALLY IN THE CUYAHOGA VALLEY NATIONAL PARK, TO A POINT WHERE THEY HAVE VERY NEARLY REACHED NUISCANCE STATUS. THEY SURE DON’T POSE A PROBLEM FOR ME…THIER GRACE AND DELICACY GIVES ME PLEASURE EVERY TIME I SEE ONE.

My creation for the community mini typography challenge cause I’ve always loved typography. When I was thinking about what I wanted to do for my piece… I thought about what I could see on wall print/poster and this saying just came to me. This was shot at Luna Park, Sydney, late in the evening on Easter Saturday this year. These costumed staff members were consummate professionals, exchanging banter with holiday-makers – and never to busy to pose for photographs with tourists. But I wanted a completely unposed, natural shot to highlight their costumes, and I reckon I shot four or five impromptu frames before I got this shot. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Taken with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F8, 1/90 sec, ISO 400, focal length 68mm. Featured in COLOR AND LIGHT, July 2009.
