I realize this picture isn’t clear but there is something I have always loved about it and it is actually my screen saver. Maybe it’s because I find it looks like a painting…..I’m not sure but I’m putting it on here just in case others feel the same way and would like to enjoy it.

Unique ice formation in the marina. Bubblers under the docks keep the water open throughout the Michigan winter.

A brilliant sunset over the marina. This was the view from my front deck tonight. A few boats are still floating as October is coming to an end. Snow will be flying soon…maybe. The lake level is dangerously low so many sailboats are now getting stuck in the mud.

Just another sunrise. Up til now I’ve resisted uploading these because there are so many really outstanding ones already on RB, but, well, everybody should have at least one, right? This is a summer sunrise at the Port of Orillia.

This vessel was established in 1950 and deactivated in 1992.It was the last functioning lightvessel in West Europe. / Was replaced by a Light Tower since 1992. / Is now part of the National Maritime Museum. / To be seen in Bonaparte Dock. / /

Shot at Clear Lake, CA. (on the way to Ft. Bragg, CA, which is right on the Pacific Ocean.) / It’s interesting how the eye will seek out even the smallest image in a picture, as mine did when I saw this bird perched on one of the lake pilings. The gently blowing wind against the water produced a gentle texture for the image. I was also amused that they had used old tires around the posts to protect the boats from hitting the dock. Viewers of this lake would not say it’s pretty…actually it’s quite uninteresting, but when you look for beauty, you’ll generally find it everywhere..even in the midst of uninteresting! / /
