Ok, I’ve been back out again with the wind up toy cars ( see Sun Touched ) and this is the second result. Inspired by one of my favourite films, ‘The Getaway’ starring Steve McQueen and Ali McGraw as Carter “Doc” McCoy and his wife Carol. A husband and wife bank robbing team fleeing police and their accomplices after a heist gone bad. Check out another shot, “The Getaway” here / Or check out the full shadow series here
A “portoon” (Portrait cartoon – not a common term. in fact I have never heard it before, so I may have coined a new word. If not, someone please let me know :) I have found that the realistic portrait type treatment of the head and cartoon treatment of the body quite popular with clients. The caricature with distorted features is fun for everyone else but not always for the person who has to live with it :)
Waiting For Doc – by RD Riccoboni ™ portrait of three Labs. Three family members waiting for their master to return. Sometimes the slightest shift in the way you look at things, / a seemingly insignificant change in perspective can alter your life forever, / Author Unknown Color is the first thing you notice about my work. What makes it ‘pop’ is the placement of color and texture. The primary colors in my palette are derived from the colors in the original rainbow flag which represent sexuality, healing, sun, nature, art, harmony and spirit. As a painter I am a visual storyteller. A message comes with the art – perhaps it is playful, calming, erotic, disturbing, political, or even sacred. I like to flirt with the issues and experiences we face in everyday life, the things we do and the places we go that define our lives. Whether positive, humorous, or thought provoking, my work portrays events people relate to while creating a sense of place for the viewer. RD. Riccoboni RD Riccoboni ™ is an innovative American-born painter (California, 1960), influenced by his early years living in the suburbs of New York City. A self-taught artist, he credits encouragement by family and teachers for his drive and inspiration. Riccoboni’s paintings on canvas and paper depict his travels and local interest. Subjects include California landscape, cityscape, portraiture, street-scenes, public events, and everyday happenings and friends. His palette is derived from the bold colors of the original rainbow flag. Colors that represent, sexuality, healing, sunshine, nature, art, harmony, and spirit. This is one of the many bunnies that live near the foot of Rocky Mountains on the west side of Colorado Springs, Colorado. This one was a baby. They are not well liked here because they destroy lawns and eat flowers. This is probably a mountain cottontail.
