Chambered Nautilus Nautilus pompilius can usually be found on the sea floor at depths of 150m+, it swims into shallower water at night to prey on small fish. Nautilus use their strong sense of smell to track their prey, and because of their ability to adjust the distribution of gas with each chamber, are deft at moving through the water column. DEPTH RANGE: 200-300 m. DISTRIBUTION: PNG, central Indo-Pacific. / View my underwater collection here Take a look at my other photos / Klipz Card Shop Add me to your watchlist /

I visited the North Island of New Zealand in Febuary 2009 and was lucky enough to get out for a dive to the Poor Knights Islands. Famous for its good sport fishing and even better scuba diving ever since they declared this area a marine park. The underwater gardens in these parts were quite amazing and this little colony of yellow zooanthids knocked my socks off. Diving was done with Yukon Charters, Tutukaka.

I spy with my little eye a SHARK! / Taken at Sea World, Gold Coast, Australia. / I like the effect the bubbles are having on the fish. They seem to be interested in the bubbles in some way. All the while the diver is keeping his eye on the shark. The diver is wearing chain mail to protect him (just how well do they feed these sharks?). Featured in ‘Australia! You’re Standing in it..’ group.
Taken at Seaworld, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. A female diver hoovers up the poo while the residents avoid all domestic duties.
