A couple of weeks ago, I put out a request for someone to ‘Zombify’ my photo of Bowness Cottage as it is the cottage that is used in the final scenes of the classic Zombie film 28 Days Later! I thought it would be fun to turn an ordinary looking cottage in the lovely countryside into how it might look if Zombies attacked….yes, I must have a weird mind….Lol! Rhana Griffin totally followed the brief, did an awesome job and this is the final result

Looking at everyone’s amazing photographs makes me feel quite jealous of the fact all these people live in places like Australia. / I may live in the Lake District in England, UK, which is one the most beautiful places in the world, but its not as amazingly exotic as these far flung places! / I now really want to visit new places abroad, i think i have caught the bug to travel more! / I never thought i would be so much into photography now, i have always been involved in the painting side of the visual arts, but now i have come to love the advantages of capturing a moment in time in one shot. / Hopefully i will be able to travel more this summer so keep an eye out for my new work as i find it!

Had a trip out to the Lake District yesterday and it gave me the perfect opportunity to experiment at making a few panoramas. I managed to get three in total. They were stitched together perfectly by CS3 and required only a little adjusting. If you have the time pop over and comment. Be honest…....

Well, I’m getting towards the end of loading my “back catalogue” of photos. It’s been fun browsing through them all again and picking out which ones to upload (quite a challenge when it comes to the Lake District because I always click away like mad when I’m in the Lakes!). Next week I’m off to Snowdonia so if the weather is kind hopefully I’ll have a few more to add when I get back!

The weather in the UK may not be the best for the time of year but it did mean that there was some snow on the Cumbrian Fells. There was just enough to pick out all the gullies and folds in the land without making everything look white and blank. It also meant that I could climb a couple more mountains and get some shots from the top. / The route up Wandope (near Buttermere) started well but then led up a steep slope alongside the hanging valley of Addacombe Hole. Suddenly those picturesque patches of snow weren’t so pleasant – they filled all the foot-holds, making them dangerously slippery. An hours’ hard labour brought me to the summit and it was suddenly all worthwhile – all around were snow-capped mountains glistening in the sunlight. / Then it was across a snowy plateau and over another summit (Whiteless Pike) which brought the lakes of Buttermere, Crummock Water and Loweswater into perfect view with more mountains beyond them. / Then it was down and home, my camera finger every bit as tired as my feet!

Hi. I’ve just started adding my photos to redbubble and you can see lots more of my photos on my website at www.spraggonphotography.co.uk . I’m visiting Cumbria in a few weeks so I’m hoping to get some good photos of the Lakes and scenery up there – you’ll see the results here soon. I was looking at Andy Rouse’s website earlier today. If you haven’t come across him before he’s probably one of the best wildlife photographers in the UK. He writes in the BBC’s Wildlife magazine and posts regular reviews of camera equipment on the Warehouse Express website. Luckily he’s holding a talk at a theatre nearby soon so I’m gonna go along and see him and buy a signed book!

It was one helluva trip. 20 days. 8 cities. all coasts. priceless memories. / I probably couldnt do much justice to all the beauty that I witnessed by taking perfect shots, but nevertheless I had a ball. London is not UK. The countryside is.
