Autumn in the Peak District, UK.
Stiched panarama taken at sunset from istimus on Derwent water.
A beautiful morning unfortunatly due to a dead battery in my landrover and our other car having all its locks frozen I missed most of it and only manged a couple of images. As the morning colour was allready fading fast when I arrived at this location.
A view looking back to Cat bells.
This is the second image of this tree I’ve posted with diffrent light, taken at sunrise from near Hawes End on Derwent water.
This secluded tarn, is tucked away in the heart of the Cumbrian mountains. A remote and magical place, with a wild yet tranquil, atmosphere
Went out with fellow bubbler David Parkin to the Lakes today, what a smashing bloke he is !! / Any way we had a ball in the sunshine and beautiful surroundings even if i did get lost once or lots of times !!!

My seond attempt at this place, the first time was a sunrise session with a lovley cloud inversion. I thought that it might work better at sunset with the sun setting in the West.
Sometimes, just sometimes reality can exceed all your expectations. The day had been a complete washout with a horrendous storm that seemed to go on forever. Then, just before sunset the storm broke to create one of the most colourful and amazing sunsets I have ever seen. Turned out I was in a great locations as well. Shot on the banks of Derwent Water near Keswick in the English Lake District. Finalist in the Landscape Photographer of the Year 2007
Taken looking down Crummock water in the lake district on a beautiful Autumn evening with friends. The colours were so striking I almost considered not processing to B&W! but felt the mono added to the brooding feel I had whilst taking this image. ________ Taken with a Canon 5D/24-70/10 stop ND + 3 stop grad. 6 mins exposure at f11.
Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F16, shutter speed 0.5 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop I took this shot around dawn in February this year when we had several weeks of very cold weather, it was a wonderfully peaceful start to the day. Derwent water is in the foreground, the hills reflected in the water are called the catbells. Catbells is a fell in the English Lake District in the county of Cumbria. It has a modest height of 451 metres (1,480 ft) but despite this it is one of the most popular fells in the area. It is situated on the western shore of Derwent Water within 3 miles (5 km) of the busy tourist town of Keswick. (Wikipedia) Please view large
Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 14mm, F29, shutter speed 1/13 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop On the way back from Blencathra I drove down Windermere, the sun was setting and I wanted to get a shot of the stretch of water with the sun setting over it. I found this location and was prepared to wait for a while for the light to change, I then spotted a boat going past, a few seconds later the wake of the boat created this wave! Please view large

Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1/160 second, ISO200, processed in Photoshop On Friday I had one of my best days in the Lake District ever, the dawn was amazing over Derwent water (I took too many photographs again!), I then walked up Catbells which is one of the fells to the west side of Derwent Water. I eventually reached the top of High Spy 653 m (2142 ft) before returning the way I went up. The highest hill in the far distance to the left is Skiddaw, Blencathra (the hill I climbed the other week in the snow) is the highest peak at the far right of the range of “Skiddaw” hills. Sorry for the lack of comments at the moment, I am finishing my first project for my photography course…I will be back on track after Monday night. Please view large
Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 2.5 seconds, ISO100, processed in Photoshop Last Friday in the Lake District was amazing, the stillness and reflections from Derwent water were amazing, my photographs really do not do justice to how magical it was. Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1/15 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop After I had finished paddling around in my wellington boots in Derwent water to get my previous shots I moved down the shoreline to this location to see beautiful early morning sun hit the amazing mountain of Skiddaw in the distance. Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1/13 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop Last Saturday we paid a visited to Rydal water in the Lake District, the weather was cold but clear and the light was wonderful with pockets of sun shining on the fells. It is amazing how the weather can change in the Lake District, only a couple of weeks ago large parts of it were flooded which some people are still suffering the after effects of now.
