Whilst most of the contingent were either still in bed or enjoying an English Breakfast in the hotel, Simon Gladwin and I were braving sub zero temperatures and gale force winds on top of Curbar Edge.

Fairfield is a fell in the English Lake District. It is the highest of a group of hills in the Eastern Fells, standing to the south of the Helvellyn range. Featured in the Your Magic Place group JULY 2009.

This was taken on the way upto Alcock Tarn in the lake district (national park), UK, a lovely morning, we started wearing full wet weather gear and by the time we got to the top most things had been stripped off as we were far to sweaty.. This image was taken on a horrible wet and windy grey day in the Lake District. A long shutter speed has captured the movement in the branches and create a smooth texture to the water.

Sometimes, just sometimes reality can exceed all your expectations. The day had been a complete washout with a horrendous storm that seemed to go on forever. Then, just before sunset the storm broke to create one of the most colourful and amazing sunsets I have ever seen. Turned out I was in a great locations as well. Shot on the banks of Derwent Water near Keswick in the English Lake District. Finalist in the Landscape Photographer of the Year 2007
