Creative / I created this image to remind us of the consequences of our actions if we continue to take our precious environment for granted. The location chosen is Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, a city free from catastrophic disaster. That is until Mother Nature turns back on us. We can keep running from what we have done but this is infinite future chaos! Thanks to Rikki & Jess for being models. You can see the before and after shots here Technical / The background was shot in 3 sections and stitched together in Photoshop CS3. Various parts from extra shots were used i.e. The Seven sign and text from another shot I took. I also cloned out people and objects as well as added elements to create this scene. The background, clouds, Rikki and Jess were shot separately on an old but trusty Canon 10D in RAW mode. Other images were sourced online and manipulated beyond original recognition. Once I had all the elements I needed I composited it all together in Photoshop CS3. I had to create some elements such as texture, debris, snapped cables and smoke from scratch using the good old airbrush and pen tools with various brushes all made easier with a A4 Wacom tablet but found that the mouse was sometimes better for other tasks. A lot of masking, deep etching, cloning, dodging and burning went into making this image what it is. Once complete I colour graded it to give it a real sense of drama and darkness.
Photo Manipulation. 25 images have been used to create this piece. / 5 stock images have been taken from sxc.hu, the rest are my own. The most difficult thing to get right was the water coming out of the tap as that image had a black background so I had to work very hard to get the water to look realistic. Distressed look ‘Rock and Roll’ skull design.
Worn Rabbit is an extension from the original series of 9 Animal Designs that are 4” x 4” canvas blocks that I created at end of 2007. I’ve utilised the selected pink or acrylic from the original series and inks on a distressed photo that I took and printed out on paper from one of my many sketch pads. The animal design series represents what we could be left with if we don’t take care of nature and all it’s creatures. With their charming toy like appearance, they could just end up like childhood memories.
Somefink different methinks! Certainly not brain food!!

I had an opportunity that I clearly used to my advantage…...while up at Lake Nora over the weekend, a dragonfly in distress and nearly dead happened my way; he spent the good part of an hour letting me photograph him before he gathered up enough strength and then flew off, only to land about 10 feet from me, but out in the water…........I made a wish for him and I know his spirit is watching over all the others as they diligently go about their designated tasks…...I had a very good feeling though as if he was put right there in front of me for this reason…......I got quite a few shots of his entirety, but I enjoy this one more…........ / ______ / All The Materials Contained May Not Be Reproduced, Copied, Edited, Published, Transmitted Or Uploaded In Any Way Without My Permission. The truth hurts, but people need to know it. Even if you’re being (slightly) immature about it. No-one reads your stupid tweets. This design is my take on the latest sexy offerings from Threadless
Night crawled through the window, hoping to not be seen, fell across the bed and made itself comfortable. / “I didn’t invite you.” / There was no response. Night began to whisper to itself in a dream. Its dark shadows fled the mattress and drooled over onto carpet, up the side of a night stand that cradled a temporarily favorite novel, a lamp that had once belonged to the owner’s mother and a stack of unread books purchased at the Goodwill store. Night crawled up the side of the wall and across a painted canvas. It shielded its eyes from the glare outside. Yellow neon shifted in ribbons around cardboard and brick. Headlights beamed, streamed and faded. The sidewalk was bothered by dark shapes streaming back and forth, flickering in jerky animation at times and at others, folding in smooth drapes of darkness, like blue-black frosting. / Night moved. It always on the move. Following. Escaping. Searching. Always moving toward the light. Or away from it. Sometimes Night wished it could lay down and stop running. Just for twenty-four hours. But it never could. / It grabbed its hat and moved smoothly, silently back out of the window and across the street. / “Oh, well, another day another sunrise.” Night said to itself. Then it turned to look back and shouted. “By the way, I’ll be back, whether I’m invited or not.” Change of Scene is acrylic on paper 15”x20”
