Almost every day I see people asking “how do I put pictures in my profile”. There are quite a number of tutorials on how to do this, and here is yet another. This one explains how to use the image from your “preview/buy” page in your profile, and also gives an explanation for creating a profile with smaller images, like the one below. The tutorial is written in a pdf format (for windows PC users – sorry mac people, I wish I could put the instructions in for you) and includes full link texts (difficult to put into a journal on Redbubble because the code you need to type in converts to images unless you leave spaces) and some screencaptures to help along the way. Download it from here: Profile Pics Tutorial This is only one of many other tutorials on this subject. • Whilst on holiday in North Yorkshire, England, I had chance to meet up with my good friend from Redbubble, Paul McGuire. We decided to meet up an go take some sunrise photos. Needless to say that 3am came very quickly, and I drove to pick Paul up from Scarborough, and then onto Ravenscare near Robin Hood’s Bay along the North Yorkshire coastline. Our first idea was a field with a fence right along the edge of the cliffs. Though this was beautiful, we didn’t feel it was quite right. We then decided to walk down a path which is part of the Trail Acorn way to Robin Hood’s Bay. We soon came to a clearing in the trees that gave us a beautiful view of the open grounds and battlements of the Raven Hall Hotel. The Battlements date back to Roman times. It was built as a fort for by the Romans in the 5th century. It is an outstanding view. I will be uploading two more images similar to this one. What a glorious morning we had. Canon EOS-1Ds Mark ll / 28-300mm IS zoom lens / f/29 / 6 second shutter speed / ISO 100 / Cokin graduated ND filter (121)

  • Aurora borealis photographed in November 2003. A very active solar stream gave superb displays even at low latitudes. This shot was taken with a Mamiya 645 and 35mm f3.5 wide angle lens near to where I live. Film was Kodak E200 push processed to ISO 800. As a result the original is very grainy. Such a display has not occured since I moved to digital!
