Where am I again? / A great American landmark juxtaposed with the pride and joy of Taipei. / The irony may be lost on the New York, New York Department Store.
These kids live in a village which just 3 months before we arrived had been occupied by militia. Residents had fled for their lives and had only just returned to what had become a ghost town. People were everywhere. Displaced and unsettled. To support them go to healafrica.org
A pencil sketch of one of my favourite models (who was having a bad day) combined with photo of house under demolition. The house had one wall left only but you could still see wallpaper remnants and the outline of the staircase. I found the image disturbing and still do even although it was shot about 10 years ago. I thought of the photo when I was reading about the recent displacement of 1.5 million people in China as a result of new construction for the Olympic Games. Deconstruction, deterioration and erosion are themes that interest me a lot in art.
These people had been run out of their village by militia and had just returned when we arrived in North Kivu province Democratic Republic of Congo. They are just some of the millions of displaced Congolese driven by fear of the horrific crimes carried out by the roaming militias. When we arrived it was chaos. People return to homes that no longer exists, and victims who are no longer as they were. HEAL Africa has started an initiative whereby the leaders of these communities from Muslim, Christian and indigenous religious groups come together to try and rebuild the community. Yep that’s right a Christian group working with others in a non judgmental socially progressive way. I just had to point that out :)

“Collaboration” – Challenge Café – n°20 – Leecemee//PBworks This challenge immediately interested me. / It was just necessary to find the image which makes tilt ! “Green jumper 03” I saw very quickly this image which I like to associate with Parisain Atmosphere… / Then a small mall to ask the authorization of the artist : Leecemee. Granted. First test with a too strong isothelie that I show on a page accessible by my personal site. There, drag another file which I did not remove: a small musical test. Maybe good with the “Collage”. / Moreover it is always on line at this address: / Provisoire : http://pascale.baud.free.fr/provisoire/test.html Then some changes accompanied by a quick explanation on a random and poetic geometry. “Poetry is as precise a thing as geometry” Gustave Flaubert & there the result of our collaboration ! :)

This was heavily inspired by an image I’ve seen repeatedly on the Web. I don’t know who made the image, by what process, or etc. It is a painting of a young lady with a lily and there are butterflies flying, that she is watching. At least, if I remember correctly, she is watching them This is not the same image, or a knock off of same, just inspired by having run into it too many times.
like the titel says…cucumber cut up in slices!
There were two different girls I went to school with named Lisa. Oh, I suppose there might have been more, but only two that I know about. They were very popular, blond, perky persons. One was more blond than the other, but was more studious, so that the other was the more perky. I was not setting out to paint either of them. Yet, what emerged is, to my eye, a composite of the two. More serious than one, more dark than the other; those are obvious. There are other things, which I cannot quite define, which belong to one or the other of them.

Trees wash down in rivers or off the steep slopes along the beaches, and are often washed up on the shore during heavy surf in the winter. Small handheld LS Kodak755 digital My 50th Birthday, Widgity Stick, minus the snake backbone wwhizzing around the stick…broken sorry by sticky fingers! My poem/response: A STAR FELL TO EARTH / Cronin shifted 3.5 degrees to access the pass, grinding the stone to light up the path. A star fell to earth. / The shaft of dazzle playing on the steamy wet rocks billowed luminously and then curved in order to saunter to the river. / A river that sounded bare and raced through the opening, a torrent of energy harnessed by the sun, sapped up the force field and carved a singular name on her Yoni: Earth Goddess fell deeper than air; a furnace of inner core, sucking the deepening hate, avenging the Cross through the millenniums.
This is Cocker Alley in Melbourne CBD, off Flinders Lane. I have been playing around with post processing for a few days on this one, trying to make this work, and nothing did. Then I came across Trinx portfolio, who’s awesome urban art photography inspired me enough to create this. Melbourne is such a unique city with it’s lanes and alleys to explore. This one didn’t look anywhere near this grimy, but I wanted a feel of a darker place, a seedier environment of the underbelly of the city. I’d encourage anyone who visits Melbourne to take a bit of time to explore the many unique alleys through the CBD, don’t know what you might find down them!
