First off, I should probably qualify “dislike”. What follows is a list of things about RedBubble that annoy me, think of it as a wishlist; perhaps the start of a wishlist; some ideas about a request of features or fixes and so on. I’m writing this more as a reminder to myself than anything else. Mostly I like RedBubble. It’s a good enough site. I wouldn’t be using it if I didn’t find it usable—I just happen to think that if the following were dealt with it’d be more usable. So, in no particular order, the things that I dislike about RedBubble are: It’s impossible to keep track of comments you’ve made on people’s works. Likewise, it’s impossible to keep track of posts you’ve made to the forums. The text formatting for comments is awful and easy to get wrong (because it tries to be easy to get right). It also appears that many features of the formatting system aren’t documented in an obvious way (as I type this the only help directly available is three lines below the edit box). The lack of an edit facility after you’ve posted a comment drives me nuts. The above is made even worse by the lack of a preview facility for comments. The lack of a facility that lets me remove comments (either my own or someone else’s) is annoying. I dislike how I can’t know if I’ve previously faved an image while I’m viewing it. I dislike how I can’t know if I’m currently watching someone while viewing their profile. I dislike how I can’t un-fave an image while I’m viewing it. I dislike how I can’t un-watch someone while I’m viewing their profile. I dislike how I can’t go into edit mode while viewing one of my own images. I dislike how the upload process won’t make use of any IPTC data in an image. If I’ve gone to the trouble of typing up my title and my description once already, why do I have to do it all over again? I dislike how groups are currently unusable in terms of keeping track of their limits. I like how some of the groups have a “5 images in total” limit and I really want to abide by it but I dislike how I’ve got to trawl through all my images (or through the group’s images) to figure out how many I’ve already got in there. BubbleMail is handy, but far less handy than it could be because I can’t see an of the BubbleMails I’ve sent. (Thanks to Deborah for reminding me about that issue) I do, however, like that it’s early days and that most of the above will probably be addressed in some way in the near future.

I am in Arizona, but I am from Alaska. So, philosophically speaking, I live nowhere. As I do not live in Alaska physically, at the moment, but neither do I accept Arizona is my home: it is where my body is. I am 39. I have been ill, and in pain with it, all of my life; but, I’ve muddled through, so far. Not particularly into horror movies or anything full of gore, but I do like ‘IT’ and ‘It’s Alive’, ‘Alien’, and all the other Alien movies, etc. Mostly prefer comedy, action comedy even better; and Westerns which are generally funny, too, though, if you think about it. Rock music is what I listen to, mainly, but I like a little bit of everything, really. Right now, I am extremely partial to steak grilled in a coffee marinade that I devised. Oh and grilled eggplant that’s been tossed in olive oil and Italian seasoning! I love blues and greens, together; black is probably my favorite “color” as it goes with everything else and it doesn’t hurt the eyes, ever, or make one feel queasy. .. as I said,I’ve been ill most of my life. I used to have a favorite flower that I can no longer remember the name of, but it grew wild at the top of our driveway and people from other places told me it is extinct. As in they would look at it and go “Wow! Oh no .. but that can’t be. It’s listed as extinct.” Apparently it is no longer so, though, as I have seen pictures of it in recent years online. It was red and yellow and had little round sacs at the bottom of it’s petal, right at the point, where nectar, that tasted like honey, was stored. Irises, Dandelions, and Fireweed always make me happy. .. purple Irises, like out on the Flats between Palmer and Anchorage. A question for you: I saw, in the categories of another art site, ‘non-fiction satire’....how can you have non-ficiton satire? I do not say it cannot be done, but, how? Anyway, this was actually an emailed response to a person I hear from every now and again and it struck me as something particularly telling .. if people listen….

  • Food for Thought! / To like something is to want to ingest it and,in that sense, is to submit to the world, to like something is to succumb, in a small but contentful way, to death. / But to dislike hardens the perimeter between the self and the world, and brings a clarity to the object in its light. / Any dislike is in some measure a triumph of definition, distinction, and descrimination – A TRIUMPH OF LIFE.

  • Drew this piece early this month while mending my stall early this month, listening to my ipod cos there’s not much customers on sundays.. I initially thought i’d call this “You can’t see me”... i was a lil confused by my drawing.. so i showed Karin and ask what she thought of it and she mentioned.. “You wish to remain hidden? You can’t see me, or are you saying ’ you won’t see me’ – is this you hiding your heart and your feelings behind the cutest teddy bear I’ve ever seen?” Love Karin!! XD i realised that my drawing’s prolly derived from my daily life at home.. i’m not allowed to express any sadness or anger or stress or pain etc. being too happy is wrong too.. even if i were to express them, she won’t see or acknowledge them.. she’d ignore my pain and agony, even if she’s the one that causes it while he’d worry thinking i’d go nuts anytime.. i miss Brown… PS: i really should be preparing for my stall.. but i got distracted by this while creating printouts for my pendants.. i won’t be logging back in till next monday.. eheh.. sorry.. Fall Strains by To Die For Where were you when I needed someone / To help me ease my pain / Where were you when I needed comfort / To get me through the day There was no one to hold my hand / When I couldn’t sleep at night / No one there to understand / Too scared to sleep ‘til daylight Another night without you / Another night of fear / Another night of loneliness / Wishing you were here Can’t find the light without you / Darkness calls me near / To another sleepless night / Whishing you were here Years we shared have lost their meaning / Wihtout you by my side / Memories of all the good times / Bring tears in my eyes Another night without you / Another night of fear / Another night of loneliness / Wishing you were here Can’t find the light without you / Darkness calls me near / To another sleepless night / Wishing you were here
