Hi Kids! Today saw me painting, painting something which I hope will become rather successful. I’m into the quirky, and the geeky… all the things that make up TBO. / I’ve taken the Dead Silence Mermaid, and have painted, and drawn her (acrylic and marker) onto some floppy disks! / This was really just a bit of investigative art and i’m now doing one with 4 disks, of the mermaid dj again…... the top will be the same two, but different colours. Would really like your feedback! Would you buy something like this, given the chance? I would be looking at getting them framed and mounted, and putting them in my Big Cartel store. Much Love and Painty Bits, /

“The splendorous colours and patterns of a Barn Owl (Tyto alba) in full flight silently beating her wings. Tboism III - Art: A fine function indeed!

Good Morning Kids! Thought I’d share, I went into this Gallery/Clothes Shop/Funky Place yesterday and got to talking to the owner. She was telling me how they clear out the whole shop and have exhibitions, and then restock the shop the next day and the art continues to be for sale, along with other cool stuff. I showed her this disk, and her reaction was good, but she thought that images of my work were saved ON the disk… a impression that I don’t want to give and one that i don’t think there is any escaping from. I’d say some sort of sticker on the back saying the only function of this is art. If you put this disk into your computer, you’d ruin the art, and 9 disks out of 10 crash My Computer! ;) The more i think about it, my work seems to be lacking in this “nu-boho” we seem to be seeing. Are these clothes/galleries/caffine stop/book shops popping up everywhere? or is it just me? Don’t get me wrong, they’re all VERY cool, I like them, but I’m not changing my work (ie: sticking buttons on it) to fit in. Until I find THE place for TBO, they’ll be fitting into me ;) Much Love and Stay True to your Art Kids, /

Check this out. Recent data storage option taking up to 4 standard hard drives. Manage and safegaurd your files and swap out small old disk for bigger new disc when required. A bit expensive at the moment at around $500 but looks one of the best home or small office solutions going. Claims to be better than RAID. Anyone got one ? Please let us know what you think DROBO Storage Robot

Something has gone quite hinky with my computer. Which is to say, it is probably either the modem, cable, or some sort of thing related to equipment we own OR the server. We were supposed to be getting 7 MB speed from Qwest. It never happend. It was more like 1.2 MB if that. Now, the speed says 100.0 mbps – last week it said 10.0 mbps speed. No idea what either of those mean, but everytime the number gets bigger, the service gets worse. There was something definitely going on with my computer, though. It was acting hinkyesque ever since I uploaded one of the paintings of Txbone. Well, that’s normal, as there are jealous hackers out there. But, then, I went on a clothing site, and I saved an image to show other people. At that point, everything went crazy, screen started scrolling itself up and down, etc. Well, I cleaned out a lot, even reprogrammed. The anti virus, anti malware programs can’t find anything wrong. Yet, aside from most attempts to use the internet winding up with pages that cannot be connected to, or speeds that only a snail could love, I can’t use my art program. It was messing up, so I deleted it, cleaned up it’s aftermath, re-installed it. Various bits just kept not working right. So, another clean up and reinstall, another scan, etc. (not necessarily in that order). Got to the point where it would open, I could draw or paint or etc., but I couldn’t save ANY of it. Crazy! Now I am trying to wipe my computer and see how it goes. I made the wipe disk, after an unfruitful search for the last one I made, and it hung up. So I tried about a thousand ways (give or take) to get it to stop that, even made a different disk after super cleaning the blank, but no joy! Went to read the FAQ , as it recommended to do as the third step (1_Run the disk and try the F4 suggestions, 2_make a new disk,3_ if does not help read the FAQ, 4_if does not help then contact support with a load of information you have no idea how to send us … is my version of the instructions I read). It said to use the 2.0 version for newer computers. The 2.0 version was nowhere near the bit that said for CD and DVD, but, it does indeed say something about it being for newer Intel … something something .. .blah blah blah… The upshot of all of this is, I liked technology a lot better 10-20 years ago, when it was less easy to hack, even better than that – when Commodore 64 was king, as no computers have caught up to it, yet. Sometimes they seem to be heading in the opposite direction, in fact. Which, if you ask, I shall explain more on later. The other upshot is that I have no idea how long it’ll be until I have a working computer, much less a working art program, to get back into the swing of things here. May be later today, may be years. (sigh) Just to let you know!

This photo is of my artwork created by using glass paints on the clear disks at the top and bottom of stacks of CDs orDVDs as I was not sure how the paints would perform on the disks it was a bit of an experiment. / Again flowers are an influence along with stained glass windows. When the wind comes in the door they spin and when the sun shines they spin coloured shadows over the room spreading happy lights over our ordinary lives.
