A couple of nights ago Matt (of Disenchanted Photography ) and I spent a couple of hours in his garage with the intention of experimenting with lighting and off camera flash. / We actually ended up shooting smoke trails for four hours and had a ball! / The experimentation with flash position, ISO and shutter speeds was very beneficial and I got alot out of the shoot. / / The first (mainly black) images that I’m showing here are pretty much off the stick. / They have been converted into jpeg via Lightroom and have had the blackness darkened, a little noise reduction, contrasted and thats it. / I’ve even left the little specks of dust and flying embers on the images! / / / / / / / / / / / / / / Here are some that Matt has used his post proc skills on… / Matt has the “clear gif” setting on, so I could not copy in the larger images… / / / / / / / / / / / / I must admit after spending just a short amount of time on post prod myself I personally found an artful beauty in these type of images simply by converting them to monotone and tweaking the contrast. / / / / / / / / / / ...and to finish off, those of you who know me well know that lately I’ve been hypothetically looking for Aliens… Well I think I found one… / / / / Peace and Hugs! :D

'Revamp' Is Not A Dirty Word!

Well it’s been a long time in the making but the latest encarnation of the Disenchanted Photography website has finally been completed and gone “live” for the world to see. While I’m still not 100% happy… the little things that are bugging me will be sorted out over time and for the most part I don’t think most people will even notice the things that are driving me mental. LOL Anyway, for better or worse… is here and I’d like to invite you all to have a look around. What I would really… reall like is some feedback (the constructive kind is best) and if there is something you think is missing or could be done better, I’d love to hear it. Please note If you have been to my site in the past… it might be a good idea to hit CTRL & F5 (at the same time) to force a refresh of the site Cheers, / Matt

Paul and I have been working very hard on updating an improving the Disenchanted Photography website since Paul has come aboard and I’m here to tell you that it is almost ready to be launched for the world to see! We are both very excited. There will of course be the standard galleries show casing the work we’ve done and as the time (and jobs) roll in they will be frequently updated along with news and all the ‘goss on what we’re up to. Some of you may have visited the Disenchanted Blog since it’s conception however that will also be moved and Paul and I will both be keeping that active on a very regular basis. We will also be including some desktop wallpapers to help entice people to keep returning to see what they can get for free and eventually we will be selling small packages of them as well as screen savers and tee shirts etc. There’s still a lot in the planning stages, but it’s all coming along very nicely… and we can’t wait to show you all! Until then… we’ll keep you posted.

I’ve recently made some changes to this portfolio as a consequence of now having PLV on the team and taken some of the more personal work off and it will eventually be replaced onto another (personal) portfolio. In the past I have not made any of my modeling shots available for sale however I am more than happy to make any image available should the request be made. Simply drop either Paul or myself a RB mail ‘thing’ and it will be done. Alternatively, if there is something you have seen in the past and can not find now, please RB mail me with the details and I’ll dig it up for you. As a side note, Disenchanted Photography is now also sporting a flashy new blog and you are all more than welcome to visit, read, comment or throw fruit if you see fit. This morning, I received my “Devil Woman” card by Disenchanted. Holy freakin’ hell, the quality is awesome!! Besides the fact the photo itself is fantastic, I can’t get over the superb quality of this card. In fact, I think it’s better than the cards we buy at the newsagents! I am so happy with my purchase! Although on the flip side, I think a previous order of mine has gone missing. Was informed it had been sent Aug 30th, and it still has not arrived. Whereas the one I received this morning was posted Wed Sept 12th and arrived today – pretty good for Melbourne to North Qld. I’ve contacted redbubble about the missing order so I’ll just have to see what happens. But anyway, for any newbie who has hesitated in ordering something from redbubble due to worries over whether it’ll be any good – don’t hesitate any more! buy buy buy! I was knocked out by the quality of this card!!
