  • Continuing along the same theme as “Out To Dry”, this poor teddy belongs to our Labrador, Henry. He greets us with this smelly thing in his mouse whenever we come home, often giving a muffled bark at people passing by in the street like a really fierce guard dog (not!). Today my wife decided it had got smelly enough and in the washing machine it went! I captured it’s pleading look of “Save me!” before she mercilessly pressed the Start button!

  • 2nd place winner of the 2008 Mildura Bush Film Festival (digital photography section). / Thanks so much to Robert Dye for supplying me with the name of the original artist for this concept. The Red Model was painted in approx 1935 by Rene Magrittes. / To see my website click here /

  • For the amenity of self I’m only standing here / as long as it takes / to purge you from the centre of me / you sit back there thinking I’ve not got a heart / but I do / and I am going to take it back from you. I’m going to hold it / warm it again / and place it back where it belongs / in my chest / proud and functioning / without you. I care not that you are everything / one thing / more than something I ever wanted / It’s too late now / I am washing it all away; Down / around / circling through the bends / gurgling and spluttering / away into the ocean of tears / where the waves curl and lick the saltiness / under again where it belongs / today / I am going to stand up straighter than I ever have / there is no other way / I am going to stare at myself in that mirror / until my eyes become my own again / and I’m going to say it all / until I believe it. Goodbye. © ryan This wonderful poem was written by the very talented writer and good friend / nicole ryan This series was shot the old fashioned way, the camera an old Pentax K1000 with ILford Black and White film and hand printed using high contrast filters. / This public toilet was utterly disgustingly dirty and had not been cleaned for who knows how long. • This is a painting done in air brush from a pose. A body was used as ref, the look, hair, clothing, background, words, cans and other props ( looked a t live guitar for the ref) are all made up out of my head. This painting took forever! It’s Mitch in his stage clothing at the Dive “Smokey’s” before he blew it up along with Smokey. The painting on the wall is of the Angel of Death and the words state “you are a dead Man” in Italian. / / Copyright / These Images and Writings Do Not Belong To ANY Public Domain. • This is my tribute to Muntazer al-Zaidi. The legendary journalist who threw his shoe at George W Bush during his farewell visit to Iraq. Clearly it is based on Banksy’s “Flower Chucker” stencil which is based on a photo from the 1968 riots in Paris. I’ve tried to keep it faithful to both Banksy and Muntazer by illustrating his head as close as possible to the original press conference image, in the style of “Flower Thrower”. I also illustrated the shoe to fit his hand just nicely and added a bit of definition to the fingers. Love to know what you think. Good riddance George Dubbaya. Muntazer al-Zaid may be the thrower, but you certainly are the tosser. / / / / / / /

  • / I wouldn’t like to feed the photographers for which this photo is the plain and simple truth. Another instalment in my Nostalgia series although a little different then usual in the set-up. It’s a lot simpler a composition then most of my work, but let me assure you, it was so much harder to get right! Shot with my relatively new Pentax K10D and a very old Pentax-A 1:1.7 50mm objective. You can read all about the technique used in this tutorial more work / the calendar / preview / “Forgotten” was sold as a Medium mounted print to an anonymous buyer. Thank you! “Forgotten” is also freely downloadable as a wallpaper to decorate your desktop.
