Obviously I can’t be 100% positive that this is our boy, but this is about the age I imagine him to be getting to. This little guy was only about 12 feet away from me as I grabbed several shots before he caught the scent of ‘Nikon’ in the air… LavenderMoon~

I still have an assignment do to for school, but I hadn’t posted origami for a really long time. I felt like posting something and only have the time to create using what I already have. My origami calendar / / Ever since I saw mobii’s Origami Penguin Tee shirt, I’ve wanted to give it a go myself. The problem was I was too busy at the time, and I could not think of a creative scenario for it. I finally thought of one, and started folding from a 7×7mm piece of paper using tweezers, but by the time I was finished, I realized it was too tiny to create the scenario I wanted :P. I’m going to do bigger one later. I’ve decided to show this one anyways because I think it’s cute. It’s just taken in my hand hand; nothing new, but in black and white the lines in my hand looks like a snowstorm Taken with an Olympus FE-340. For a better idea of scale: / and here is the bigger one:
As mentioned in my Penguin in a Snow Storm, I saw mobii’s Origami Penguin Tee shirt, and wanted to give it a go myself. This is the scenario I had in mind for it, and the first penguin I folded (the one in Penguin in a Snow Storm folded from a 7×7mm piece of paper) was too small, so I folded two bigger penguins with 14×14mm pieces of paper. The one on the left is flying up a bit after the right one stomped onto the other end. The seasaw is a cotton swab, and the “ice”, upon which the penguins and seesaw are reflected, is a plastic container. But I’m very thankful to the host Pene who has re-accepted my work into the group and made a special note in the challenge about my winning work. / / / / / It looks great on a card! Another one for the MAD MAX fans, Mmmm, Mmm! Dinki Di dog food. The meal of choice when cruising the outback wastelands hunting for your next tank of juice. Hey, if it was good enough for Max, it’s good enough for you! You wanna get outta here? You talk to me.
photoshop / 2009 As a kitten, Dinky was found dying on a doorstep from a parasitic worm that had wrapped itself around her neck. Doctors gave her a 50% chance of recovery since she was so frail and well, “dinky.” She did survive and now, 3 years later, she is a happy, healthy, lovely cat fit for a classical portrait. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it.
So how did this idea come up? First see the description in my Penguin in a Snowstorm, then read the third comment (not including my replies). So then mobii puts me to the challenge and posts the instruction for an Origami camel The one I folded here is from a 14×14mm piece of paper. I actually made this quite a long time ago, but I didn’t want to post anything yet until I try a smaller one, but then I became too busy and am not sure when I will have the chance to do a smaller one so I’m going to post this for now. This image was taken straight from the camera. The water in the background in not photoshopped; it is my computer screen. I wasn’t intending it to come out blurry but I’m glad it did. Mother hens lay their eggs in flowers, and when the chicks hatch, their features collects pollen. As the chicks enter adulthood they lose the pollen in their feathers – when they are white they are chickens! Okay that’s not true; that idea just came up randomly :P I know it’s been a long while since I’ve uploaded anything; I’m still pretty occupied, but we recently got these flowers in the apartment and I wanted to do something new with them before they die. (Same story goes for my Little White Peacock in a Field of Color) The chicken was folded from a 15×15mm piece of paper. For a better ides of scale: I found the instructions online; courtesy of Gerwin Sturm. Check out his stuff at: http://www.scarygami.net/ He provides instructions for designs he came up with himslef and they are pretty cool. He’s also selling a book! !
