A beautiful young Black Rat snake…it’s not quite reached it’s full length…being only about 4 feet long. I found him crossing the road with a bird in it’s mouth. For me it was an unusual find as I didn’t really think that these guys would rely on roadkill for dinner…....even though? I know u can feed them frozen/thawed mice and such.

This photo was taken in my last trip to Egypt “cairo”. This is a historical mosque belongs to Mohammed-ali-basha. This mosque is located in “The Citadel/ Al-Qalaa” which was built by Salah Ad-Din during 1176. The Citadel is one of the most popular sightseeing in Cairo Egypt and one of the most visited areas in the city. It is now the museum that offers the best collections and impressive views of Cairo. / ___________ Featured in the featured art gallery. Featured in the group Islamic Beauty. ______

This little spider doesn’t seem to spin a web, it waits for it lunch to come near and then it jumps on them, though it is not incapable spinning webbing; as when it jump on it’s prey it has a safety line anchored and quickly subdues it’s prey and attaches them in a safe little place and then scurries back up top of this flower.

Built on a basalt outcrop, Bamburgh Castle was known to the native Britons as Din Guardi and had been the capital of the British Kingdom of Bryneich from the realm’s foundation in c.420 until 547, the year of the first written reference to the castle. In that year the citadel was captured by the Anglo-Saxon ruler Ida of Bernicia (Bryneich) and became Ida’s seat. It was briefly retaken by the Britons from his son Hussa during the war of 590 before being relieved later the same year. His grandson Æðelfriþ passed it on to his wife Bebba, from whom the early name Bebanburgh was derived. The Vikings destroyed the original fortification in 993. The Normans built a new castle on the site, which forms the core of the present one. William II (Rufus) unsuccessfully besieged it in 1095 during a revolt supported by its owner, Robert de Mowbray, Earl of Northumberland. After Robert was captured, his wife continued the defence until coerced to surrender by the king’s threat to blind her husband. Bamburgh then became the property of the reigning English monarch. Henry II probably built the keep. As an important English outpost, the castle was the target of occasional raids from Scotland. In 1464 during the Wars of the Roses, it became the first castle in England to be defeated by artillery, at the end of a nine-month siege by Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick. It is an awesome place, breathing and oozing history every single second. And I want to go back there. From film
Click Here For Large Framed View The coastal Parish of Bamburgh is set in beautiful Northumberland countryside. During the early medieval period Bamburgh was at the very centre of royal Northumbria which stretched from the Humber to the Forth. It was the most important county in England very different from the quiet little village that it is today. The original name of Bamburgh was Din Guaroy but it became Bebbanburg after the Saxon Queen Bebba and finally Bamburgh !
