  • The Shack
    by Dana DiPasquale

    US$9.97–US$228.00

Long Beach Island, NJ / www.danadipasquale.com This shack has been near my childhood home since I can remember. It falls a little more every year, and recently was supposed to be torn down. But, the residents of the area rallied to get it declared a landmark because it was such a part of the way we recognized home. So I love this little guy. © Dana DiPasquale 2008. An abandoned railyard.

  • Aren’t you glad this isn’t your home?? My husband and I drove by this abandoned house the other day. This is the first time I’ve been able to get inside one. Usually I’m toting the kids, and can only get a quick shot of the outside. Oh man, this place was TRASHED! But so fun to photograph! Unfortunantly, I didn’t have a tripod, nor was there really anything to use as one, so only a couple of my HDR shots didn’t turn out a complete blury. HDR This piece was featured on the Redbubble Homepage May 23,2009 and in Dilapidated Buildings group, Eerie Lighting group and A Photographer’s Craft. • This was shot in Arlington, WA. One of my favorite pics and the most featured, viewed and favorited of my works here on RedBubble. Thank you! / Using Photoshop, I adjusted the levels and saturation to bring out the colors. Three separate images were composited: old barn ruins, rainbow with tree and clouds. Clone stamped out a telephone wire as well. Trying something new, experimenting with my images in the Orton Style. Shot this with my Kodak Easy Share point & shoot camera. Brought it into Photoshop and added layers and different blending options as well as blur and sharpen. This work was featured / May 28th, 2009 in the group Nature’s Reclamation / February 8, 2009 in the group Rural Around the World / December 13, 2008 in the group 100% / December 6, 2008 in the group Rainbows / December 5, 2008 in the group Old Barns Around the World / November 19, 2008 in the group For The Love Of Jesus / November 15, 2008 in the group Rainbows / November 11, 2008 in the Group Unwanted, Abandoned and Worth Saving / October 30, 2008 in the group Dilapidated Buildings

  • the forgotten bride
    by JimFilmer

    US$4.99–US$114.00

The ring is on my hand, And the wreath is on my brow; / Satin and jewels grand Are all at my command, / And I am happy now. And my lord he loves me well; But, when first he breathed his vow, / I felt my bosom swell- For the words rang as a knell, / And the voice seemed his who fell In the battle down the dell, / And who is happy now. But he spoke to re-assure me, And he kissed my pallid brow, / While a reverie came o’er me, And to the church-yard bore me, / And I sighed to him before me, Thinking him dead D’Elormie, / “Oh, I am happy now!” And thus the words were spoken, And this the plighted vow, / And, though my faith be broken, And, though my heart be broken, / Here is a ring, as token / That I am happy now! Would God I could awaken! For I dream I know not how! / And my soul is sorely shaken Lest an evil step be taken,- / Lest the dead who is forsaken / May not be happy now. ... • Hope Not Forsaken
    by Lois Bryan

    US$4.83–US$110.20

Featured # 1 Artists of RedBubble February 20, 2009. I loved the look of the long, late afternoon shadows across the snow on this day. This old farmhouse on the knoll fascinates me every time I drive by … probably more so than any grand mansion ever could. It’s vacant now, has been for as long as I can remember … the torn-off porch was the last indignity. But somehow, love and laughter remain. It must have been a very happy home, once. Image taken on January 20, 2009 with the Nikon D40x, using the 18-200mm VR lens and the CP filter … along Route 97 near Glenwood, Maryland. Cloning of snow spots (from an earlier shoot) and levels and shadows & highlights were used in Photoshop, and the image was then put through Photomatix’s HDR process.

ARCHITECTURE IS WHERE YOU FIND IT / Architecture is to do with the designing of buildings and structures, but in its broader meaning it also includes the design of our complete built environment. It can be found in outback areas, on mountain peaks, almost anywhere on the land, even on the sea in the form of oil rigs and it surrounds us in our places of abode. We tend to take it for granted and complain when its appeareance doesn’t suit our taste. Architecture provides us with shelter, places to work, gives us points of reference in our urban wilderness, but most important of all, it provides a fundamental basis for the way we live. Architecture is ephemeral, can be a thing of great beauty, and its elements can be pillaged and used as building blocks by successive generations. Past civilizations are often known through their achievements in architecture and certain works have become cultural, political and artistic icons. Presumably a family once lived in this little house at Fernie, British Columbia. It now stands derelict and isolated, yet it seems to exist as a monument to the toil of hard working rural people anywhere. The image was captured during summer 2008 towards the end of a photographic journey through the Canadian Rockies. Thanks for taking the time to view my photos and feel free to comment. You are welcome to visit my photography website My most recent publication ‘ARCHITECTURE WITH CHARACTER’ includes images of this rural house. Click on image below for a preview.

    US$4.32–US$98.80

Location: Mare Island Abandoned U.S. Naval Base Vallejo California / Technique: HDR (My first 3 shot HDR!) Featured in Group: / “Posted: NO TRESPASSING” – February 14, 2009 / . / . / Could not do my normal HDR sequence which consists of 16 to 23 shots because of an annoying fence blocking my view. Even when I got my aperture set up so the fence wouldnt show, the framing just wasnt how I wanted it. So I had to prop my Baby (Camera) over the fence and did Auto Bracketing instead, bummer. Hope You all like it! ...Ben… Featured in: / The “Live Long & Dream” group – November 2008 / . / . / .

  • Broken
    by Lois Bryan

    US$4.83–US$110.20

. / . I have to credit Dear Hubby for this one again. When we stopped the car, my eye was drawn to the window right above this one … through the broken panes of glass and the hanging curtain, you can see the slats of the roof … between which are pure sky. But from my husband’s vantage point in the driver’s seat, he saw the brilliant color of this one!!! Nothing like having a great co-pilot!!!!! My thanks to my dear friend Bevie (Beve Brown-Clark) who suggested I give this one a face lift with Orton … she was soooo right … it made a huge improvement!!! May try HDRing it one of these days, too!!! WHEEEEE!!! SUCH fun!!! This image was taken with my Nikon D40x, using the 55-200mm VR lens in Pavia, Pennsylvania.
