A street photo taken at Changi Airport, Singapore. Using the natural light as backlighting, these people were quickly snapped in silhouetted as they were walking away. I’m surprised how similar these people are. They echoed each other in terms of being in a pair. Also, the pairs in the foreground are single dad with their only child. All this captured at the time 16:57.

I really hate to put so much work into something and then post / it as “Untitled.” Sometimes I just can’t thing of anything to call it, / but I will try my darndest to come up with a name. While I was contemplating this, I saw an aerial view of rooftops and city streets below. It made me think of the lengths we go through to compartmentalize ourselves and to protect our personal space with barriers, both concrete and emotional. Don’t get me wrong: civilization is good … I like my creature comforts. But I have always been able to feel lonely in a crowd.

Hosier Lane in Melbourne, Australia. A result of 9 images (3 HDR’s) done in Photomatix. Merged the HDR’s in photoshop using automate > Photomerge. Inspired by Raymond Chandler detective novels: “I saw her leave her apartment, easy on the eyes, all right, and all the right curves in all the right places, and she spotted me; she’s still steamed about being protected, they all are until they really need it. Even so, she put a little extra shimmy in her walk – reminded me of two kittens wrestling under a blanket – on this case the clues were getting harder to find than a black candle at midnight…” / (this whole scene came from a phrase I read somewhere ages ago, the kittens wrestling isn’t mine, and grew into this image…)

The picture is of Albert Street in Dawlish, which is the last Cobblestone street in the town. / Shot in colour, and converted to B&W, which gives it more character.
