The storms were fierce with a ton of rain last night. I decided to take of work and spend the day at the falls near my house. I must have snapped 200 pictures today. What a great day!! I found a new toy its my infrared lens. Dedicated to my father who passed away 9/15/08. Ephemeral: Lasting only one day. Lasting a very short time. I created this using various old images I had laying around and played with it in Photoshop. I almost feel like I should have a poem written for this piece, but alas, i am not a writer! After a very long winter (so far) I needed something that sang Spring time is just around the corner! After a lot of fuss, and several hours, in Photoshop and Painter X this is the final result. Every pixel of this piece was re-painted (digitally) by hand. All of the apple blossoms and leaves were created from scratch. As a final touch I added some texture to the piece to give it that last little edge I was looking for. On 16/12/09 This image has had 935 views and 239 comments I have created this for the Winter Whimsy Challenge which is in the enchanting Animal Fantasy and Whimsy Group. The challenge called for a creative portrayal of animals in the winter. I have so enjoyed creating this one. Whenever I make composites of animals it always makes me smile and feel incredibly happy. I chose the polar bears because I thought it would be fun to try and develop an image using largely white as the dominant colour (and I also thought that we would be seeing a great many reindeers in the coming month!)
