DECEMBER 2008 FEATURED IN Feminine Intent Group / JANUARY 2009 FEATURED IN Unconventional Artistry group / BEST VIEWED LARGE Part of the Nature Characters Series / MCN:C1E78-9ED82-3E241 My mum passed over in June 2000 however she is still with me. I feel her touch and see her presence nearly everyday. MOTHER (MY LADY OF THE ROSES) Our mother was naturally beautiful / A woman in every way / Our mother was loving / And so caring / And always had her say / Every brand new day As a child / I saw her gently tending her roses / With emotion so very deep / For the beauty that she saw in the flowers / Was from her heart / And her beauty made me weep / And the light of love surrounding her / Translucent skin with no flaw, I saw / Maybe, to others, as mother and daughter / We were constantly at war / Like two fires brought together / The flames of love did roar / ‘Tis a love that will be in our hearts for evermore And Mother, I heard you call to me / In spirit last night / Mother you need not be in fright / For God, our Father will take you through the door / Back to his heavenly home once more / Where relatives and friends are waiting / And you will be the belle of the ball Though your body may seem missing / You’ll see it as before you took your flight / In Holy Spirit to soar / As you pass through / Deaths door / And we will always be together / As we have before. © – C J Lewis, 2000

  • Aphrodite A Grecian Goddess of the sea. She is the Goddess of love, beauty, sensuality. The phrase “goddess of love” in Sanskrit translates as ‘she who has a fish as her emblem.’ One vision of her is mounted on a dolphin. She carries a casket representing life, death and rebirth. According to one belief, dolphins carried the souls of dead to the Underworld. She like Venus was born of the sea. She is associated with all the creatures of the sea. She represents the sea which is life giving and She is seen as hope. She is the Goddess of both physical and spiritual love. / / WARNING / ©2008 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.

  • © C J Lewis. Oils on stretched canvas 20”x 30”. This painting depicts the love of a mother reaching out from across the Great Divide – the other side of life – as denoted by the cross running down the centre of the painting and the ethereal quality of the mother. The girl has her eyes open due to her awareness of being whereas the boy still is to awake to life’s energy functions. The poem below was written in honour of my mother on her passing. I was sitting at my computer working when at 10pm on the Wednesday before her death she went into a coma in Gosford Hospital – she called my name and I knew then she was leaving this dimension soon. I immediately got up and said out loud: ‘It’s ok mum … dad will open the door for you’. I then sat down and composed this poem. Our mother died at 5pm the following Friday.
