Originally an oil painting that has only had the bottom layers painted on without much detail, it is 100cm x 100cm, and it hasnt progressed in some time… / it was really frustrating me and i became really unmotivated to finish it / so i took a pic of it and finished it in photoshop! :) / The painting will one day be completed, i have so many paintings in progress, so not sure when i will be finishing it.. Photoshop details – lots of airbrushing and burning (all with my trusty mouse, oh how i wish i owned a wacom tablet :)), / ooh and i love those little stars! Hope you enjoy! I am still working on the other images in this series. I like challenging myself in new ways, with my self-portraits. And i thought it would be interesting to see if i could make it look like i was interacting with myself . . . in some way. I shot this series against a green screen. The background was taken from a photo-shoot i did at an industrial site in Seattle, Washington. The watchman was kind of enough to let me onto the grounds and gave me a tour and all access pass with my camera. I wanted to convey the extreme sadness i feel with manic depression. Over the years i have discovered that sadness is often anger, spread really thin, masquerading as melancholy. Anger is an emotion i have a very difficult time allowing myself to feel and express, i often repress it. As a child i was not allowed to express my feelings or my anger. There is a detachment that comes with sadness, a disconnect from the self, from the world . . . © Copyright 2009 Ivana Redwine, All Rights Reserved Abstract Trees, Moss and Branches in Blues With Accents of Other Colors is influenced by Fauvism and uses color subjectively for its emotional impact. I used Trees, Moss, Branches and Glimpses of Sky as a point of departure. As I digitally manipulated the photo, it became increasingly abstract. The finished image still has representational elements, although they are reduced to ghosts of what was in the original photograph. The work now reads mainly as an expressive abstraction.

... open heart-chakra. / The unblocked chakra of the heart stands for love, sympathy, humanity, affection, security, frankness, tolerance and goodness of heart. / Everbody who is able to feel his own chakra of the heart knows it may have very individual colors and forms. My chakra of the heart became purple and white while I created this picture. In reality and internal. My chakra got opened while I created the picture because I was thinking of the people I love while working.
