This is a small sandbar in the channel next to Richard Branson’s Island in the British Virgin Islands.
created with a basic computer art program.
This example was written about 25,000 years ago by a holidaying Martian and transmitted back to her grandaughter on the home planet. I am no academic but a rough translation would be…. “Here we are 5 light years from home already and Mozhie tells me he thinks he left the gas on. Please check – my life!!!!!”. Of course if anyone comes up with a better translation then you are as mad as I am. LOL
roy’s motel, amboy, california, is classic route 66…the place has been closed for quite some time yet looks and feels like it could reopen any minute…there have been plans but, so far, none have come through…it is a little off the beaten path but well worth the effort to visit…
route 66 has many unusual attractions…”here it is,” located at jack rabbit junction in arizona, is one such place…signs once littered the length of the old route that simply said, “here it is” with an illustration of a rabbit and an indication of how far you would have to travel down the road, to discover what “here it is” is…there may be fewer signs today, but “here it is” is still trying to lure passerbys to stop in and see what it’s all about…
there is something alluring about palm trees…they speak of an exotic locale that tends to be out of reach for most of us…a balmy beach in some southern clime…real people who work real jobs (tongue in cheek) tend to work in northern locales that have no safe harbor for the elegant palm…the first frost would do them in…so we sit in our insulated cacoons and dream of paradise in the shade of the majestic palm, sipping a drink adorned with an umbrella, as a warm salty breeze blows in from the surf…

This is a final collaboration using Amy Blagden’s image of a woman in Vietnam in a boat at sunset. Amy did a great job a capturing the silhouette. I felt it just needed a bit of enhancement. I also added the frame to give it a more aged look.

Sometimes I feel the need to escape my daily routine, and jump on a train to an unknown destination. Just a brief pause in my life to replenish my energy… Today is one of those days, but I will only dream of waving and saying Bon voyage ! Please note that the layout of this card is not off center , it has been made that way in order to compensate for the usual trimming on the right edge during the printing process. The printed card will be centered. Featured in the Live, Love, Dream group on March 13, 2009 Featured in the Feminine Intent group on March 13, 2009 Also available as wall art in my other portfolio /
