Inspired by the dreamy tune of Catch A Fall by 4 Strings. I had this song on repeat while I made this.

  • This one, painted some time early last year (2007) was inspired by my wife. She suggested that a poem she likes, by William Henry Davies, would be a good subject for a painting. The extract of the poem on the painting it’s self reads… “What is life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare … / No time to stand beneath the boughs, and stare as long as sheep or cows. / No time to see, when woods we pass, where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. / A poor life this, if full of care, we have no time to stand and stare.”

All photos taken in and around Sydney, Australia with a Canon 1D. The composite consists of 10’s to 100’s of photos to get the right angles and mood. Water from the ocean on a calm morning with no waves around the rock pools. Domes and architecture from buildings around Sydney. (QVB, University) Rock formations from beaches and old quarries such as found in Kiama. The main ingredient : TIME and then some!
