  • This image grew organically from the “Chiefs wife”. I was thinking of the regal aloof nature of the African queen, which I had drawn earlier and then I thought of the scary twighlight world of the Sangoma, or witchdoctor, in juxtapostion to this calmer world. Sort of like the yin/yang, good and evil aspects that co-exist within each of us.

  • this image started life as a pencil sketch and evolved from there. The Double-mouthed sailtail generously tows his companion, Blockhead, across the Atlip desert. Blockhead shields Gorff from the watchful eye of the ever hungry Zylap. Their trusty, but aging pumpkin droid, brings up the rear.

  • sci fi, fantasy landscape, ruined spaceship, digital painting

  • WOW, talk about being in the moment, when I saw this scene I almost forgot to take any photo’s it was so tranquil. / The sea was like glass, with the Island before me and the moon above the spacedock at Almas Peak, all against a backdrop of the White Nebula. / What an incredible end to a perfect holiday. WOW

  • Here on Great Moona we pass in close orbit to Krill, the moon as a very thin atmosphere,it was used in the 2000 year war as a battle platform, and some wreckage still remains of that costly conflict.

  • This image took first place for digital art for the month of April 2008 at Digital Image Cafe

  • I just found this very old photo of Peggy’s Cove, this was taken on Mariners World about 200 years ago. / Because of the violent storms generated by Nova Moon,it requires two lighthouses. / They do say except for the backdrop of the Scotia Mountains and the Nova Moon, this could be the original Earthly scene. I used Lucindawinds images “Tranquility” and “The Reason for Lighthouses”. Alienvisitor’s Imagi – Nation .......................................................................................................... Here’s a How I did it.! I went to Lucindawinds page and viewed her art,the two I picked out were…............. “Tranquility” and “The Reason for Lighthouses”. I then contacted her,got permission to use them and had her email high res. images. / She also gave me ownership of said images,to use in any creations. In this I used two photos, a render, 2 models creations, a number of layers and filters. / Software used Photoshop,Infinity-D,Artmatic Voyager. In Photoshop… I put both photos on transparent layers,In Tranquility I erased the most of the sky,in Lighthouses I removed everything but the rocks. I dragged the rock layer onto the Tranquility image and positioned it in the lower quadrant. / Then I took a good look and saw in my minds eye what I needed for a backdrop and also the colors. Leaving the image on the right side of the screen,I opened my 3D rendering program Artmatic Voyager ( this is a Mac only program) / I then spent about 4 hours building and rendering an Alien Background. I always render at the highest possible resolution and saving as a PICT file (on my machine that can take up to 6-7 hours, this one took 2 hours.) Closing the Artmatic program and reopening the render in Photoshop,I then dragged it onto the transparent layer. Now I needed lighthouses and I didn’t want to use the one in Lu’s image. / Needed something a bit more alien. So I opened Infinity-D,and built myself 2 lighthouses, saving as psd transparent files. Back in Photoshop I dragged and positioned both lighthouse layers onto the Tranquility photo. Then feathered and cloned all the edges of all layers until they were blended to my satisfaction. I then opened my filters and chose the “Old Photo Color” filter, tweeked, painted, erased the image then set the filter. The filters I use are nik Color Efex Pro. It still needed something…FOG.. Opened a “Graduated Fog” filter adding just a little fog with the paint brush on the horizon, this also goes aways to hiding any harsh edges in that area. Almost done… Added a bit of brilliance to the image. Thats it and well worth the effort…another fine alien creation. “May you always create well and prosper” Alienvisitor’s Imagi – Nation* David (AV)

  • Take me down to the paradise city Plaese open new tab for music thx

  • Forteana / Available as an art print, poster and card. Charles Fort was a Dutch-American writer who has inspired sci-fi writers with his wild and often visionary glimpses into the future. Today the word Fortean has come to mean anomalous phenomena. Fort was fascinated with UFO’s, the existence of other worlds and he predicted the space race, and how space travel would someday become commercialized. / Stephen King used the works of Charles Fort in The Firestarter, and his influenced many writers and his influence can be seen in Hellboy, the Necronauts, The Morning of the Magicians and if you get a chance to read his works, you’ll find even more instances where he has influenced popular culture. / !Image copyright © 2008 Shanina Conway. / Copying and displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited

  • One of the nostalgia series, what may happen on the mysterious island? Vue Esprit, Strata3DCX.

  • Well, I’m not sure what this is. It’s just another way to get from point A to point Q, right?

  • Another in the fractured B Grade movie themes…this is a parody of the 1953 / 3D B-grade movie…Catwomen of the Moon. / Available as a poster, print, card and T.Shirt The storyline is roughly a race of stunning catwomen, the last of an ancient civilization plot to steal a spacecraft from an expedition from Earth….the party of guys think they’ve found paradise…..won’t tell you more but it’s a lot of fun with reviews ranging from highly imaginative, great fun with a box of popcorn to why did they bother…but I’m glad they did as it’s a hoot. / Image copyright © 2008 Shanina Conway. / Copying and displaying or redistribution of this image without permission from the artist is strictly prohibited. / if you enjoyed this work you might like / Lust in Space / Catwomen of Mars T-shirt /

  • Blue Man is home: he lives in a bungalow modeled after the Incredible’s ranch home, on a floating property. Blue Man’s real name is unpronounceable, so we call him Nit, his mate, Green Girl, we call Nonnie. She made us a pie. They wear skinsuits, electrochemically generated from inside, similar to John Varley’s nullsuits. Their world is low gravity. We’ll be seeing more of them later!

  • Inspired by Raymond Chandler detective novels: “I saw her leave her apartment, easy on the eyes, all right, and all the right curves in all the right places, and she spotted me; she’s still steamed about being protected, they all are until they really need it. Even so, she put a little extra shimmy in her walk – reminded me of two kittens wrestling under a blanket – on this case the clues were getting harder to find than a black candle at midnight…” / (this whole scene came from a phrase I read somewhere ages ago, the kittens wrestling isn’t mine, and grew into this image…)

  • Blue Man has discovered the Lost Valley of the Laughing Gods, who have visited this place very long ago and spread their message of peace, good humor, and the journey of the soul far beyond a single lifetime, and they instilled in the locals the duty to maintain these teachings and keep the temple safe…

  • I created this artwork with two different fractal programs (Apophysis and The fractal explorer) To create the bubbles and get the endresult I used the tools of PhotoImpact and Photoshop. / Designer: Thea Walstra / CanDuCreations / /
